Radio host Lauren Phillips makes surprising admission about her superstar ‘mate’ Matt Damon

Lauren Phillips has made a very surprising confession about her ‘buddy’ Matt Damon.

The 41-year-old radio host admitted on Nova’s Jase and Lauren show on Wednesday that she hasn’t seen any of Matt’s movies yet.

She then told how Matt convinced her to watch his Oscar-winning 1997 film Good Will Hunting, which he co-wrote and starred in with Ben Affleck.

“Lauren is terrible at matching movies,” her co-host Jase Hawkins revealed during an interview with the Hollywood actor.

We interviewed her yesterday and the only movies she’s really seen are Christmas movies and I think you [Matt] made her feel guilty and prompted her to watch Good Will Hunting.’

Lauren shot back: ‘No, he didn’t put me up to it. I said, “If I watch one of your movies, which one should it be?”

‘And Matt said, “How about that one I wrote when I was a kid? Why don’t you watch that? The pivotal moment in my life.”‘

Lauren then shared that she had recently spent time with Matt’s children Alexa, Isabella, Gia and Stellar and that they had reviewed the actor’s films.

“One night we sat down with his kids and we went through all the movies he had ever made, and they ranked them,” she said.

‘They gave them a score out of 10, as if we had rotten tomatoes at the table ourselves.’

Matt added that while his children hadn’t seen many of his films, they were still tough critics.

The actor, who was on the show to promote his latest film The Instigators, also hinted that he would like to host a private Australian premiere of the film at his good friend Chris Hemsworth’s Byron Bay home.

“Lozzie, I thought this was premiering on Apple TV Plus on August 9th. We’re going to Australia,” he said.

“We’re in Byron, so the Australian premiere is at Chris’s house. There’s a red carpet, we’ll put a towel down because you’re the only reporter, and we can live stream the event,” the superstar joked.

Lauren, who lives in Melbourne, was introduced to Damon by the Hemsworth family a few years ago.

Her fiancé, an airline magnate, Paul O’Brien, also considers Matt and Chris his friends.
