Radio host Jase Hawkins reveals his odd encounters with Russell Brand following rape allegations against the English comedian
Australian radio host Jase Hawkins has revealed some strange moments he experienced with controversial comedian Russell Brand.
On Monday’s episode of KIIS 101.1’s Jase & Lauren, he talked about his memories when Brand visited Australia to promote his film Get Him To The Greek.
Jase told how he organized the red carpet chat and afterparty at the time, but the British comedian didn’t show up.
“He was never at the after-parties. Jonah Hill had to do it… The next day we were working at another radio station, 2DAY FM in Sydney, and Kyle and (Jackie O) were having breakfast and he (Brand) was shaken up… Before the interview .’
Jase then described how Russell interacted with the staff when he arrived at the studio.

“He kind of dozed off and flirted a lot with the girls in the office. My wife worked there at the time. She was in the little kitchen preparing breakfast and she came in and was really flirty,” Jase said.
“He came in and gave them little compliments, but in the Russell Brand style. Not convenient.’
The breakfast radio host then told a story about the British comedian locking himself in the office bathroom.

“He finally came out (the bathroom). He looked at his clock face. This was the point where he said he was no longer using alcohol and drugs, but it just didn’t seem legit. “I’m not saying guilty or innocent,” the radio host said.
“(The women he flirted with) they laughed it off. That’s what I said to Lou (my wife) last night, that’s what we were talking about… Everyone got caught up in this whole Russell Brand thing.”

Two weeks ago, Brand was anonymously accused by several women of serious allegations, including rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse.
The comedian has denied the allegations on his popular YouTube channel, saying his relationships were “always consensual.”
The remainder of Brand’s tour of Britain has been postponed and his sponsors have chosen to distance themselves from him.
Both the BBC and Channel 4 have removed content featuring the comedian from their streaming platforms.
Video platform YouTube has taken action against Brand’s channels, banning them from monetizing ads due to an alleged violation of its ‘creator responsibility policy’.

YouTube stated that this monetization suspension applies to Brand’s account, which has 6.6 million subscribers, and is due to “serious allegations against the creator.”
Google’s video service made it clear that this decision applies to all channels associated with or managed by Russell Brand.
In recent years, Brand has developed a large online following by creating videos that offer alternative views on media bias, Covid lockdowns and corporate and government abuses of power.
Four women have accused Brand of sexual assault from 2006 to 2013, and a fifth person later came forward with a claim dating back to 2003.
