A radio DJ went viral after claiming that middle-aged men dating women in their 20s are emotionally immature and should be in therapy.

Gary Thompson, from Tulsa, Oklahoma, shared his thoughts on age gap romances and why men his own age are often attracted to much younger partners in Tik Tok earlier this month.

“I’m not going to make friends with a lot of guys who are between 45 and 50 years old.” [who are dating women in their 20s] right now with this TikTok’, he admitted.

Gary Thompson, a radio DJ from Tulsa, Oklahoma, shared his thoughts on why middle-aged men like him date women in their 20s in a now-viral TikTok video.

Thompson explained that these men are emotionally immature and end up hurting younger women who believe an older man will treat them better.

Thompson believes that middle-aged men like him date women in their 20s because they have the same level of emotional maturity.

“There’s nothing wrong with her being 25 emotionally if she’s 25,” he explained, “but there’s a real problem with me being 25 emotionally if I’m 45.”

She noted that these men often have nice cars and established jobs, making them seem like a “safe place” for a younger woman looking for a partner who will “treat her maturely and fairly.”

He advised middle-aged men to stop dating women in their 20s and start going to therapy.

“Become that emotionally secure, emotionally available man,” he said.

“So she goes into the relationship with the 45-year-old guy thinking he’s going to treat her differently from that 23-year-old guy, no,” he said. “He’s bait and switch, and he hurts more than getting hurt by a 23-year-old.”

Thompson theorized that many of these men have not healed their emotional wounds from when they left their first real relationships in their 20s.

‘This is to stop using women in their 20s as emotional scratchers, guys. Stop dating those women. Go into therapy. Really become that emotionally secure, emotionally available man,’ she advised.

“And then if you still want to date someone who is 25, you can do it and really emotionally convey what you advertise with the silver in your beard. Or just date someone your age.

Thompson concluded her video by saying that men can date younger women, or women their own age, once they are emotionally mature.

The video has received thousands of comments and many women who have dated older men have agreed with her assessment.

Thompson’s video has been viewed more than 484,000 times and has received thousands of comments. Several women who have dated older men in the past have insisted that her assessment was spot on.

‘I dated men in their 40s throughout my 20s. Nothing to show but horror stories,” shared one woman.

‘I always dated older men and was always disappointed [because] I was expecting a level of maturity that was never there,” another person recalled.

Preach brother!! You are spot on! that younger relationship[s] don’t last. As soon as you mature beyond it, it’s gone! pointed another.

And one viewer jokingly asked: ‘Is this video of Leonardo DiCaprio?’
