Rachel Zegler hits back at claims of being ‘romantically obsessed’ with Romeo + Juliet co-star Kit Connor

Rachel Zegler responded to claims she was ‘romantically obsessed’ with her co-star Kit Connor.

The 23-year-old actress denied the accusation after a fan left a comment speculating about her relationship with her co-star in the Broadway play Romeo + Juliet.

The interaction took place in the comments section of her latest Instagram post, which was a compilation of her recent “moments of joy” and included two photos of Connor, 20.

One Instagram user speculated about their relationship under Zegler’s carousel post, which the Golden Globe winner shared on Sunday amid backlash over her shocking comments about Trump voters.

“I think Rachel is so obsessed with Kit Connor in a romantic way, and not just in a friendly way,” the comment read.

Zegler – who found herself in controversy again when she appeared in the new Snow White trailer after being criticized for being ‘too woke’ – addressed the rumors, replying: ‘no! to proceed.’

This weekend, she shared the behind-the-scenes photo series from working on the Broadway revival of Romeo and Juliet, produced by Tony Award-winning director Sam Gold.

The cover photo of her post was a sexy swimsuit photo.

Posing on the beach with a relaxed expression on her face, she showed off her toned figure in a tiny green bikini.

Alongside the photos, she wrote in her caption: ‘moments of joy and dreams come true. happy new year everyone. be good to each other.’

The second photo was of her adorable interaction with Tommy Dorfman, her co-star in the Broadway play, as she stood on stage and made a playful face at the 32-year-old actress sitting off to the side.

The third photo showed Zegler posing in front of a poster for her upcoming Disney film, the live action remake of Snow White, ahead of its March 21 theatrical release.

The star of The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes also included a black and white mirror photo taken by Connor on his phone as they posed in matching sweatshirts.

Since she started working with Connor and promoting their play on Broadway, fans have noticed their playful interactions and chemistry on stage.

However, both Zegler and Connor have emphasized that their relationship is strictly platonic and professional.

Her comment under her own post attracted attention and she was praised for her direct, no-nonsense response in addressing the speculation surrounding their friendship.

In Romeo + Juliet, Connor and Zegler play the titular main characters respectively.

The production opened in October and runs until mid-February.

Looking back on her time working on the Broadway production and her other projects, she shared more snapshots in her Instagram post.

Another photo showed Zegler during rehearsals on a New York City rooftop, surrounded by microphones and a grand piano. She threw out peace signs while flashing a bright smile.

The West Side Story star also included a candid action shot of her Romeo + Juliet co-star, Jasai Chase-Owens, giving her a piggyback ride and the duo having fun as they sped around the stage.

After weeks of working on the Broadway play, she also included photos of her dressing room door, which had a sign with her name next to “Juliet” and a daisy in the center.

In the photo, Zegler pointed to the flower and playfully pursed her lips.

Then, in what appeared to be a rehearsal room, she was snapped smiling brightly in a candid, black-and-white snap.

She also posted a photo of her friends, Makena Reynolds and Ava Whiteley, at what appeared to be a late-night rooftop gathering in the city.

Zegler also posted a portrait of herself posing in a yellow Dior dress on stage at Broadway’s Circle in the Square Theater, with flowers on her clothing and also all around her.

She also posted a photo of her friend and fellow actor, Ilda Mason, on her 35th birthday.

Zegler also posted a photo of herself modeling a sexy blue jumpsuit and posing outside the theater where she is performing Romeo + Juliet.

She included a snapshot of herself with teary eyes as she hugged Jack Antonoff, who wrote and produced the music for the revival.

Other photos showed her covered in fake blood during rehearsals, with Antonoff playing piano on stage and her next to Michael Kors wearing Michael Kors.

On the set of a Cosmopolitan shoot, she shared a candid snapshot of her interacting with a puppy. She also shared a silhouette photo of her in her Snow White costume.

She ended her post with a snapshot of a playful backstage moment of Connor after he threw her over his shoulder, and a beautiful solo portrait after he got glammed up.
