The answers to today’s Quordle, game #815, are…

Some words are very difficult to solve, whether in Wordle or Quordle, simply because there are too many options. My three starting words include 15 of the most common letters between them, but they aren’t as helpful with the -ATCH trap, where C, L, P, W, M, H, and B are all possible starting letters. The last four of these are not included in my seed words, so I also need a further restrictive word, possibly two, to identify which word it is (in this case MATCH).

I also have trouble with G and K endings for the same reason. There are many: BLING/BLINK, THING/DENK, STING/STINK or, as today, CLING/CLINK. As is often the case, I guessed wrong the first time and it took me two tries to solve it, having also used up a guess completing the MATCH earlier. In situations like this, there is no other option than to protect your streak, using as many letters as possible to get home on the last try. Play it safe, live to fight another day.
