It’s time for your daily dose of Quordle hints, plus the answers for both the main game and the Daily Sequence spin-off.
Quordle is the only one of the many Wordle clones that I still play today, some 18 months after the daily word game craze hit the Internet, and for good reason: it’s fun, but also difficult.
Moreover, the creators (now the Merriam-Webster online dictionary) are also keeping it fresh in the form of a variant called the Daily Sequence, where you have to complete four puzzles in a row instead of at the same time.
But Quordle is tricky, so if you’re already looking for Wordle hints, you’ll probably need them for this game too.
I’m a Quordle and Wordle fanatic and have been playing since December 2021, so I can definitely help you solve Quordle today and improve your game for tomorrow. Read on for my Quordle hints for game #620 and the answers to the main game and daily series.

Quordle FAQ: everything you need to know
What is Quordle?
Where Wordle challenges you to guess a new five-letter word every day, Quordle presents you with four puzzles to solve. And instead of completing them one after the other, you do it at the same time. You get nine guesses, instead of the six for Wordle, but the rules are otherwise very similar.
It is played online via the Quordle website and you can also do it via the Merriam-Webster siteafter the dictionary bought Quordle last year.
Like Wordle, the answers are the same for every player every day, meaning you’re competing against the rest of the world. And just like Wordle, the puzzle resets at midnight, so you have a new challenge every day.
The website also includes a practice mode – which I definitely recommend using before trying the game yourself! – and there are daily stats, including a streak count. You also get Quordle Achievements: specific badges for winning a game in a certain number of turns, playing often, or guessing particularly difficult words.
Oh, and it’s hard. Really difficult.
What are the Quordle Rules?
The rules of Quordle are almost identical to those of Wordle.
1. Letters in the answer that are in the correct place will turn green.
2. Letters that appear in the answer but are in the wrong place will turn yellow.
3. Letters that are not in the answer will be grayed out…
4. …BUT the word you guess appears in all quadrants of the puzzle at the same time, so an A might turn green in one square, yellow in the other, and gray in the last two.
5. Answers are never plural.
6. Letters can appear multiple times. So if your guess includes two of one letter, they could both be yellow, both green, or one yellow and the other green.
7. Each guess must be a valid word in Quordle’s dictionary. For example, you cannot guess ABCDE.
8. You don’t have to include the correct letters on subsequent guesses, and there is no equivalent to Wordle’s Hard mode.
9. You have nine guesses to find the Quordle answers.
10. You must complete the daily Quordle before midnight in your time zone.
What is a good Quordle strategy?
Quordle must be approached in a different way than Wordle. With four puzzles to solve in nine times, you can’t blindly throw letters at them and expect to win. You have a much better chance if you think strategically.
That is of course also the case in Wordle, but in Quordle it is even more important.
There are two important things to remember.
1. Use multiple opening words
First, you don’t want just one initial word, almost certainly two or three starting words.
The first of these should probably be one of the best Wordle starters, because the same things that make them work well will apply here too. But after that you need to select one or possibly two more words that use many more of the most common consonants and also contain the remaining vowels.
For example, I currently use STARE > DOILY > PUNCH. Together, these three words use 15 of the 26 letters in the alphabet, including all five vowels, Y, and nine of the most common consonants (S, T, R, D, L, P, N, C, and H). There are plenty of other options – you might want to put an M, B, F or G in there instead of the H, maybe – but something like that should suffice.
If all goes well, it will give you a good idea of what one or sometimes two of the answers might be. If not: good luck!
2. Narrow things down
Secondly, if you are confronted with a word whose answer could easily be one of several options – for example -ATCH, where it could be MATCH, BATCH, LATCH, CATCH, WATCH, HATCH or PATCH – you will definitely want to do guess a word that would limit these options.
In Wordle, you can instead try several in a row and hope one is right, assuming you have enough guesses left. It’s risky, but sometimes it works. Moreover, this is the only option in hard mode. But in Quordle this will almost certainly result in failure – you simply don’t have enough guesses.
In the above scenario, CLAMP would be a good bet because it could point the way to four of the seven words at once.
