Quinta Brunson was joined by Niecy Nash-Betts and Sandra Oh to lead the stars at the 76th Writers Guild Awards on Sunday.

The stunning A-listers came to the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles to celebrate the best writers in film, television and radio.

Emmy-winning actress and producer Niecy hosted the event in LA, part of merged and simultaneous ceremonies in Hollywood and New York City.

Another change for the event was the scheduling, as the winners will be honored more than a month after the Academy Awards, marking a departure from the usual pre-Oscars schedule.

“Writers as a group obviously have a different mentality than directors or actors, and they are super smart but somewhat cynical and sarcastic,” he added.

Niecy kicked off the show with a speech about the WGA strike.

“We fought for equal pay, equal say and our rights to make it to the end of a 10-episode season,” Nash-Betts said.

Additionally, Drew Carey, known for his generous gesture of providing millions of dollars in free meals to WGA members during the strike, received a heartfelt standing ovation.

Cord Jefferson won the Oscar for Adapted Screenplay for American Fiction.

The Oscar-winning original screenplay, Anatomy of a Fall by Justine Triet and Arthur Harari, was not eligible for similar WGA awards.

On TV, writers from first-year programs such as The Curse, The Diplomat, The Last of Us and Jury Duty are aiming for victory against established programs such as The Crown, Succession, Abbott Elementary, Barry, The Bear and Only Murders in the building.
