Two young boys and a girl have been arrested after allegedly robbing a woman at knifepoint as she walked her dog outside her Gold Coast home.

Kellie Hodge, 53, was walking her dog during a late-night walk through her Pimpama neighborhood when she was approached by two boys and a girl just outside her apartment complex on Saturday around 11:20 p.m.

Ms Hodge said she was almost home on Bedford Road when she realized the trio were following her before one of the boys asked if he could pet her dog.

'I said, 'Yes, no problem,' so he's gone down and turned around with a scalpel and looked at me and said “give me your keys,” Ms. Hodge told 9News.

“Then the other young boy came over with the other scalpel and ripped the keys away from me.”

Kellie Hodge, 53, was walking her dog in her Pimpama neighbourhood, on the Gold Coast, when she was allegedly robbed at knifepoint by a trio of youths aged 12, 13 and 15

Police arrested the three children and reportedly seized knives from both boys (pictured)

The trio, aged 12, 13 and 15, allegedly fled the scene with the keys and threatened they would return to steal Ms Hodge's car.

After the ordeal, the 53-year-old ran to her neighbor, who then called the police.

Ms Hodge said she has not slept since the alleged robbery and was completely shocked as she did not expect the behavior of young children.

All three were charged with theft while armed and in company and were held in police custody until they appeared in court at a later date.

It is claimed the dog squad was able to track the youths and they were subsequently arrested nearby, with knives allegedly seized from both boys.

A 12-year-old Tanah Merah boy, 13-year-old Willow Vale boy and a 15-year-old Pimpama girl have each been charged with one count of theft while armed and in company.

All three remain in police custody and will appear at Southport Children's Court at a later date.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who has CCTV footage from the area, to contact them or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
