Two skydivers were caught on video helplessly falling to the ground after their parachute failed to open.

Dramatic footage shows their half-open slide flapping in the air as the pair hurtle onto the sand at Currimundi on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast on Tuesday.

Bathers looked on in horror assuming the tandem divers would be killed.

But the duo miraculously drifted away after their reserve parachute deployed closer to the ground.

‘What’s going on?’ a man can be heard saying in the video.

‘That doesn’t look good,’ another man replies.

‘Should we run to the beach?’ asks the first man.

“I think we should,” says the other man.

The duo started running towards the beach in a desperate attempt to help the paratroopers.

The tandem jumpers finally landed on the soft sand and walked away from the ordeal.

His first parachute fell into the ocean and was later picked up by local lifeguards.
