Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk at Harry Styles’ Gold Coast concert with Dr Reza Adib

Annastacia Palaszczuk made a sparkling appearance at Harry Styles’ stadium concert as she faces growing public backlash for her apparent love of the red carpet and events.

The Queensland premier joined the 50,000 screaming fans when the former One Direction member performed at the Heritage Bank Stadium on the Gold Coast on Tuesday night as part of his national tour.

Photos provided to Daily Mail Australia by a concert goer showed the Labor leader trying to make a discreet entrance as she arrived at the venue.

Flanked by her famous weight loss surgeon boyfriend, Dr. Reza Adib, Ms. Palaszczuk wore a sparkly top under a white blazer and teamed it with black pants and a red bag.

She was seen checking her phone while chatting with her partner.

Ms. Palaszczuk met Dr. Adib in 2021 and the couple’s whirlwind romance quickly became one of the biggest talking points in state politics.

A general and laparoscopic surgeon, Dr Adib began his career at the Royal Brisbane Hospital in 1994 before establishing the Brisbane Obesity Clinic in 2004, of which he remains CEO.

Tickets for the sold-out Tuesday night Harry Styles concert started at $249.90 for a spot in the general admission standing area.

Ms. Palaszczuk was not the only high-profile face in attendance on Tuesday night.

Sydney comedian Celeste Barber was also in the crowd and shared images on her Instagram.

The Queensland premier is also not the first state or territory leader to attend one of Styles’ shows as he embarks on a stadium tour across the country.

Western Australia Prime Minister Mark McGowan joined his teenage daughter at the first show of the British singer’s tour in Perth last week.

‘It was very good. He was an outstanding artist,” McGowan later told reporters.

Ms Palaszczuk’s last event appearance was less than a fortnight after she was criticized for posting photos and posing with locals while attending the Chinchilla Melon Festival.

Days earlier, he repeatedly declined invitations to meet Toowoomba residents for a crisis meeting to address the out-of-control crime wave in the town, which is a two-hour drive away.

Ms Palaszczuk’s dedication came into question after she was accused of being obsessed with “glitch and glamour” after a series of appearances at red carpet events.

Ms Palaszczuk sparked outrage after taking her partner to a meeting between Brisbane Olympic organizers and senior members of the International Olympic Committee in Sydney in May last year.

He then apologized before promising not to invite him to any more meetings.

“I’m very lucky and very blessed to have someone to support my role, it’s a great role to lead this state,” she said.

“My partner is coming with me to different functions, but he’s not coming to any meetings or catch-ups.”
