Queensland mum-of-three dies suddenly hours after celebrating her birthday – as her selfless final act is revealed

A Queensland mother spent her last birthday with her children handing out blankets to homeless people just hours before she died suddenly.

Mother-of-three Renee Gooch, 37, who died on October 23, is being remembered as a ‘beautiful selfless giving soul’.

In a tragic story, Renee and her three children Lola, 16, Charlie, 14, and Chase, 10, spent their last few hours together handing out blankets to the local homeless.

Family friend Rebecca De Broughe, who has a GoFundMe to raise money for Renee’s children, her close friend said she “loves to give and help others.”

“Renee loved her children and family most of all,” Mrs De Broughe said.

“Renee comes from a family of givers, her mother Vicki and father Craig, generous, hardworking people who have helped many over the years and opened the doors of their home to many.

“Her brothers Brent and Matt, both genuine, kind and funny, and oh how deeply they adored their sister.

“On Renee’s last birthday, she made herself and her kids drop blankets instead of partying and making a mess.

Renee leaves behind three children

“Renee and her three babies walked the streets looking for homeless people and giving them blankets from their own homes.

“That was Renee, it didn’t matter what day it was or what time it was, if Renee had the means to help someone, she certainly would and would.

“Renee’s death is a true tragedy, and even more tragic because she took her own life.”

“Renee’s departure is a great loss for all of us and this world will be a little less loud without the sound of her infectious laugh and a little less bright with her beautiful smile and beautiful green eyes.” Renee was truly a rare person, a rare beauty.’

Mrs De Broughe said Renee had a zest for life that extended beyond children.

“Renee loved many things in life: music, art, nature, adventure, walking, lollipops and sweets, exploring new places, skydiving, laughing and making people giggle…,” Mrs De Broughe said.

Renee also loved the beach and “any water,” tattoos, animals, pineapples, sunflowers and greenery was her “favorite color.”

“Lola, Charlie and Chase have a lot of support, but we all know how expensive children and everyday life can be, so in honor of the most wonderful, generous giving soul we all knew we had to give back,” said Mrs. De Broughe.

“Let’s show her three beautiful children how much they are loved, how much we all love their Muma bear and how much their beautiful mother Renee has inspired us all to give.

“Suicide is at an all-time high and if you knew Renee, you know she was a huge supporter of suicide prevention.

“So let’s all remember to reach out and be kind, to those we know and to those we don’t.”

Mrs De Broughe said all money raised will go to Renee children to ‘help with their future’.
