Queensland man stabbed to death in White Rock home as police investigate

A man has died after being stabbed several times in the back after an argument in a shared house.

Queensland Police were called to the White Rock property in Cairns, Queensland at 1:30am on Wednesday.

They found a man in his 50s with stab wounds to his back.

Paramedics tried to resuscitate the man, but he died on the spot.

The man’s 66-year-old housemate has been arrested for the death and has been taken into police custody. No charges have been filed.

“He has been arrested for murder and is currently in custody,” Acting Detective Inspector Jason Chetham said.

“We have information that those two parties argued several times during the night and then in the morning over noise coming from the property.”

Witnesses claimed to have heard yelling and screaming in the street on Wednesday morning, police said The Daily Telegraph.

Detectives interview the victim’s neighbors as they investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.
