Australian-born Rotondo was due to live in the Philippines but was back for the Gold Coast 500 Supercars event.

Queensland police allege the man sent fake images to a Brisbane school on October 10, after which the school subsequently filed a complaint.

Authorities were also made aware of several other images allegedly sent to other facilities in the southeastern part of the state.

“Detectives from the Brisbane City Child Protection and Investigation Unit (CPIU), with the assistance of the Australian Border Force (ABF) and other agencies, discovered a number of similar incidents that had occurred at other facilities and businesses,” police said.
