A suspected street gang has been accused of shooting other criminals to inspire their rap music.

Hanad Mohammed Mohammud (23) is said to have shot senior Comanchero Kyle Leofa (25) in the face on September 12 around 7.45 pm.

Dramatic CCTV footage filed with the Brisbane Magistrates Court showed the moment of the shooting, which Leofa survived, near the roof of a shopping center car park in the Logan suburb of Underwood.

A group of about 20 men, alleged to be part of the African and Middle Eastern street gang K12 or KTM, were nearby recording a rap music video for KTM Henny’s album Opp Block Tour.

Dramatic CCTV footage has surfaced showing senior Comanchero Kyle Leofa, 25, being shot on September 12 atop a roof parking garage in Underwood, Queensland.

Mohammud, who denies being part of the gang, is reportedly seen wearing an ice blue puffer jacket at the beginning of the footage, the courier post reported.

The video features the alleged street gang in the corner of the parking lot filming the video clip as a Toyota Hilux, in which Leofa was a passenger, drives up to the roof and then backs out down the driveway.

Mohammud faced the court charged with attempted murder, dangerous conduct with a weapon and four other related charges.

He intended to plead not guilty to all of them.

Acacia Ridge Criminal Investigation Branch Senior Const Shane Hayes alleged in court that gang members yelled “Ops,” which refers to a rival gang nearby, when the Hilux hit the roof.

He also claimed that gang members were deliberately involved in shootings to inspire the lyrics and art of their rap music.

“Opp means resistance, which to me indicates that the defendant and his street gang are deliberately involved in shooting incidents in the area to produce events that can be mentioned in lyrical expression,” he told the court.

He added that the Opp Block Tour album cover depicts “two men in balaclavas riding around the neighborhood shooting at people.”

In court documents, Mohammud is said to have run to the roof and fired two shots at the reversing vehicle, which was slowed by cars behind it.

The group of men can be seen in the CCTV footage running in different directions after the shots were fired.

Leofa was reportedly hit by a bullet that went through it his upper lip, along his tongue and got stuck near his throat, according to court documents.

The other bullet was reportedly discovered in the Hilux.

Leofa was taken to the emergency room of Mater’s private hospital and treated for his gunshot wound. The bullet was removed and given to the police.

The elderly cyclist refused to reveal to police who shot him or provide any information.

Police later found Mohammud at a Southbank hotel in Melbourne and arrested him on September 23.

He was extradited to Queensland to be charged with attempted murder.

Mohammud’s lawyer Danielle Heable said police had no evidence to support these charges against her client.

She said that despite being nearby, he was not involved in the shooting and that the CCTV footage was inconclusive and did not indicate a shooter.

She added that the police did not establish any connection between the K12 gang and the Comancheros, nor did they say whether Mohammud knew Leofa.

Supreme Court Justice Peter Davis did not believe the police allegation that Mohammud was part of the street gang.

Mohammud will face court again on November 28.
