Queensland family film the moment a huge python slid across the roof of their house
- Five meter long python filmed in trees
- TikTok viewers react hilariously
A monster python has been spotted slithering across the roof of a family’s house and through the treetops in their yard.
The five-meter carpet python was filmed escaping into the trees from the top of a house several feet above the ground, while a Queensland family looked on uneasily.
At one point, a child burst into tears at the sight of the huge reptile turning its head toward the family, while a man urges her to “be brave.”
“That’s wild,” you hear a woman say.
‘They’re crazy, aren’t they,’ replies another, as the snake lifts its tail off the roof and then stops to watch the onlookers from a tall conifer before heading for a second tree.

The huge snake scared a child and American viewers on TikTok, who labeled it as both a ‘dinosaur’ and an anaconda
“Oh f***ing s***,” someone says nervously laughing as the snake stares at its audience.
“How do we get him out,” asks a child. “We don’t,” is the reply.
“Daddy could catch him.”
‘No no. Daddy’s afraid of snakes, mate.’
Dad then says to the family in awe, “Come on, your quiche is getting cold.”
The video was shared on TikTok with the caption “Only in Australia can you see a 5-meter Carpet Snake in the suburbs.”
It got a whopping 17.7 million views and nearly a million likes. With that many views, the account could earn up to $800 through TikTok’s creator fund.
Viewers around the world reacted hilariously to the clip.
‘Carpet snake? Ma’am, that’s a dinosaur,’ a woman from the United States pointed out.
“I’m not sleeping tonight and I’m in the United States,” said one compatriot.
A video of the snake’s treetop adventure was a viral sensation with nearly 18 million views and a host of shocked and amused reactions
“(That) snake is so long that one end is in Brisbane and the other end is in f*n Perth,” a local said on TikTok

“Has anyone seen the cat?” asked another Australian, while another joked ‘the new season of Bluey looks intense’.
Cases of carpet pythons devouring domestic cats and dogs have been reported, although they are more likely to eat birds, lizards and small mammals.
Another Australian found it hilarious that eating hot quiche was more important than dealing with a giant snake.
