The summit has been recognized by the City of Belfast and the British Government as part of the official celebrations of the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Good Friday Agreement.

Her Majesty gave a speech yesterday at the opening ceremony of One Young World.

She said it was a “privilege” to celebrate the 25th anniversary in Belfast and told the audience how her father-in-law, King Hussein of Jordan, reacted when he heard news of the historic peace deal.

According to Newsletter she said: “I still remember when the Good Friday Agreement was signed.

‘I happened to be with His Majesty that day and had a casual conversation over dinner with the TV in the background.

‘I remember how his face lit up when he heard the news. “If they can do it in Northern Ireland, so can we in the Middle East,” he said.

It comes after Queen Rania looked stunning in a pink floral dress as she attended a graduation ceremony at The International Academy – Amman in June.

The striking royal wore a beautiful lace dress in light pink from the Italian fashion brand Dolce and Gabbana for the ceremony.

She personalized the figure-hugging, long-sleeved number with a sleek silver waist belt with a gold clasp.

Rania, who is often praised for her impeccable taste, paired the knee-length dress with a frilled hem and Dior’s elegant rose gold and blush mesh pointed-toe pumps.

The fresh and summery outfit was completed with her Dolce and Gabbana ‘Sicily’ small tote bag in light gray.

Queen Rania’s jewelry was elegant and original, especially her striking pink ‘1919’ ring by Lebanese designer Ralph Masri.

The mother of four, who founded the International Academy – Amman in 2004, wore her highlighted hair down and kept her makeup natural for the important occasion.

In an open letter on the school’s website, Queen Rania explains that when she opened the school nearly twenty years ago, “she put forward a bold and optimistic mission: to instill in students a lifelong love of learning and to arm them with the curiosity , the compassion and the confidence to become the leaders of tomorrow.’

She wrote, “We wanted to nurture a new generation of global citizens who can serve as agents of change without ever losing sight of their roots.”
