Queen Maxima of the Netherlands beams and hugs her relatives she attends Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix alongside King Willem-Alexander and daughter Princess Alexia

Queen Máxima of the Netherlands seemed in a cheerful mood when she attended the Formula 1 Grand Prix of the Netherlands with her family today.

The 53-year-old royal looked effortlessly elegant in a fern green blouse and a summery white skirt with embroidered leaves as she walked onto Circuit Park in Zandvoort.

She paired her outfit with a khaki trench coat with a floral print on the back – the weather was relatively mild, 18 degrees – and wore white open sandals.

Maxima chose to complete her outfit with chic, dangling white floral earrings, along with a silver diamond bracelet and other trinkets.

The mother of three opted for natural makeup, with a touch of foundation and concealer and her signature smokey eyeshadow.

She wore her long blonde locks loose in a wavy style, as the locks blew back and forth in the strong wind.

In a sweet snapshot, the queen is seen smiling as she embraces Princess Annette, who is married to Prince Bernhard, the nephew of King Willem-Alexander.

Queen Máxima was also accompanied by her husband King Willem-Alexander, 57, who looked handsome in his beige suit and trousers.

He paired the ensemble with a light blue shirt that he tucked into his pants and also wore polished brown leather shoes.

A photo showed the king enjoying a glass of bubbles as he watched the drivers race around the circuit.

In a thrilling race, British driver Lando Norris won the Grand Prix for McLaren.

The majority of the 105,000-strong crowd cheered for their own hero, the Netherlands’ biggest sports star, Max Verstappen. He could not beat Norris, however, and finished in 2nd place.

Monégasque Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc took home the bronze trophy.

Their daughter, Princess Alexia, was also present, but it is unlikely that her sisters Catharina-Amalia, Princess of Orange, or Princess Ariane joined the family outing.

The 19-year-old wore a simple yet sophisticated ensemble: a knitted black top with asymmetrical shoulders, paired with smart navy trousers and comfortable white trainers.

She opted for natural makeup, just like her mother, and wore her fiery red locks loose with a wavy blow-dry.

The teenager beamed as she had her picture taken with her parents and her cousin, Count Claus, at the event.
