Queen Máxima and King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands have joined their eldest daughter, Princess Catharina-Amalia, on their visit to the Dutch Caribbean islands.

On the second day of their two-week visit to various countries and municipalities in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the couple toured Bonaire with the 19-year-old princess.

Catharina-Amalia cut a graceful figure in a blue and white floral dress, teamed with cream heels and a dainty bag. She left her hair down and opted for some glam makeup.

Her mother looked equally stylish in a colorful pink dress, cinched at the waist with a fashionable belt and featuring elegant button detailing down the front.

King Willem-Alexander made sure to look as smart as his family, sporting a pair of royal blue pants and a crisp white shirt.

Although the Netherlands is the largest and wealthiest part, the Kingdom of the Netherlands is actually made up of four constituent countries, all of which have equal status.

Along with the Netherlands itself, the members are Aruba, Curaçao, and St Maarten, each of which has King Willem-Alexander as its head of state and its own parliament.

Three other Caribbean islands, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba, are administered as municipalities of the Netherlands and, as such, the inhabitants are Dutch citizens with the same rights and responsibilities.

Until 2010, all the Caribbean islands, with the exception of Aruba, were part of the Netherlands Antilles, an entity that was dissolved and its residents were given the choice between independence or integration.

The arrangement is similar to that of the Commonwealth Realms, all of which have the British monarch as head of state but have directly elected independent parliaments.

Earlier this month, Queen Máxima looked effortlessly chic in a camel cape as she greeted guests at the Royal Palace.

Known for her color scheme, Máxima (pictured right) opted for a brown headband to brush back her locks, and a matching bag and pair of heels.

The 51-year-old Dutch queen paired her elegant gold blouse with a stunning diamond bracelet and matching earrings as she met her husband, King Willem-Alexander, at the palace in Amsterdam.

Under her coat, she donned a textured midi skirt in a variety of colorful patterns and paired it all with olive green suede heels.

The mother-of-three kept her blonde hair loose, parted on the side and tucked behind her ears, and her naturally tanned makeup with smoky eyes and nude lips.

King Willem, 55, wore a navy single-breasted suit with a blue and white patterned tie as he joined his wife in welcoming several hundred guests from the political and public administration and various sectors of the dutch society.

This was a quick turnaround, as the couple attended the funeral of former King Constantine II of Greece the day before in Athens.
