Queen Mary of Denmark stuns in orange as she hosts special event at a college in Copenhagen

Queen Mary of Denmark looked typically chic as she made a special appearance at a university in Copenhagen yesterday.

The 52-year-old royal hosted the Maratonsang event at Vartov College in the city center.

Marathon singing is an annual tradition held on the longest day of the year.

It sees hundreds of people gather in the courtyard of Vartov College to sing together, from early morning to late at night.

The Australian-born queen appeared thrilled to be hosting the event and was photographed smiling and waving to the gathered crowd.

Mary arrived at Vartov College looking stylish as always, in an orange maxi dress with a white floral print.

The long-sleeved gown had long sleeves, a round neckline and a white seam that fitted at the waist.

Her dress was made by the eponymous brand of Australian sisters Nicky and Simone Zimmermann, which they founded in Sydney in 1991.

She paired the dress with pointed Mary Jane-style pumps with heels, which had two thin straps across her foot and were the same shade as her dress.

Mother-of-four Mary styled her glossy auburn locks in a half-up, half-down hairstyle, allowing her to show off a pair of dangling green and orange statement earrings, while still letting some of her locks flow loosely down her back . in gentle waves.

When it came to her makeup, the popular royal looked radiant, with fresh, dewy skin and peachy blush.

She paired her base with a light smokey eye, using brown shadow for definition, and a natural pink lip.

During the event, Queen Mary led part of the service with several songs, which had a Denmark theme.

Earlier this month, Queen Mary and her husband, King Frederick X, entered into a joint engagement to mark the 175th anniversary of the Constitution in Copenhagen.

Mary and her husband presented a united front and appeared in good spirits despite being plagued by rumors of marital troubles since the king was pictured enjoying a night out in Madrid with Mexican socialite Genoveva Casanova last year.

The publication of the photos resulted in Genoveva, 47, issuing a statement denying a romantic relationship between herself and the royal family and decrying the “malicious” rumors.

That appearance came after King Frederik and Queen Mary appeared on the balcony of Amalienborg Palace for the monarch’s birthday.

The father-of-four celebrated his first birthday since taking the throne on May 26 and greeted the crowd of royal fans gathered outside the residence.

Frederik and Mary were joined on the balcony by their four children Crown Prince Christian, 18, Princess Isabella, 17, and twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, 13.

The family of six were joined on the balcony by Queen Margrethe, 84, who abdicated in January after a 52-year reign. The mother-of-two looked glamorous in a bright pink midi dress with short sleeves.

Earlier that day, the Danish Royal House released a new portrait of King Frederik to mark the monarch’s 56th birthday.

Australian-born Mary and Frederik’s 23-year romance was often dubbed a ‘real fairy tale’ after they met in a Sydney pub.

But images emerged of the monarch having a night out with Mexican socialite Genoveva Casanova – the former daughter-in-law of the billionaire Duchess of Alba – in November last year.

The pair were seen walking around Madrid before heading to her apartment building, changing and heading out again for the evening.
