Queen Mary of Denmark shows off glamorous new look thanks to ‘non-surgical facelift, impeccable skincare routine and fresh makeup approach’, expert claims

She’s long been praised for her age-defying looks — and Queen Mary of Denmark’s latest look might be her most glamorous of them all.

While attending the 2024 EliteForsk Awards in Copenhagen on Monday, the royal wore a full face of glamorous cosmetics, including dark-lined eyes, a dewy base, bronzed contours and a coral lip gloss.

It was a world away from her more subdued makeup looks before she became queen — as crown princess, she often opted for soft pink shades for her blushes and lipsticks, as well as a low-key smoky eye.

For dermatologist Dr. Hassan Galadari, Mary’s youthful features are almost too fresh to be down to the power of makeup alone, and instead he suggested that the royal family could rely on celebrity-favorite Morpheus8, known as the world’s most painful, non-invasive cosmetic procedure.

Dr. Hassan Galadari of Galadari Dermaclinic told FEMAIL: ‘Queen Mary of Denmark is an example of aging gracefully, even in the midst of her busy schedule.

‘While some attribute her glowing skin solely to genetics, she likely maintains an impeccable skincare routine, supported by trusted medical-grade beauty products.

‘However, it is also likely that she has opted for targeted treatments, such as Morpheus8, to address issues such as loose skin and jawline definition.

‘Morpheus8, a micro-needling device that uses radiofrequency energy, effectively remodels and contours the face and body, resulting in a smoother, more refined appearance through subdermal remodeling of fatty tissue.’

The Morpheus8 technique is a combination of micro-needling and radiofrequency, where 24 4mm needles are inserted into the skin to ‘create a controlled trauma’.

But for makeup experts, Laura Kayfounder of Laura Kay London, Mary’s updated look is thanks to “smoky eye makeup, a new skincare routine and thicker brows.”

She said: ‘Queen Mary of Denmark has undergone a glowing transformation! She has gone from the girl next door, with conservative clothing and soft, bouncy curls, to undeniable sex appeal.

‘The most noticeable differences are in her hair, skin and eyes. Firstly, she opted for smoky eye makeup. Her eyes are now more striking and defined, with smoldering browns used to create depth and heavier eyeliner favored.

Yesterday, Mary had a completely glam face with dark-lined eyes, a dewy base, bronzed contours and a coral lip gloss as she attended the 2024 EliteForsk Awards in Copenhagen.

‘Her eyebrows are also thicker and more defined and look more groomed or perhaps permanent make-up such as microblading.

‘Her skin looks dewy and more youthful than before, possibly due to a new skincare routine. She seems to avoid thick, matte foundations and may opt for a CC cream that provides hydration and coverage, ideal for mature skin, resulting in a youthful and natural look.

‘One significant change I have noticed is that she is now working with the undertones of her cool skin, namely pink and red undertones. This makes her skin tone look more balanced, glowing and enhances her natural features.

‘She now prefers bronzer to contour her cheekbones and jawline while adding a sun-kissed youthful glow.

‘Her lips now have a glossier finish, enhancing their fullness, a departure from her previous preference for traditional matte pink shades, which made her lips look thinner.

‘Her hair still retains her signature soft curls, but it is now sexier with greater bounce and larger waves, which strategically helps frame the face – drawing attention to her facial features. It looks like she indulged in some deep conditioning treatments, which resulted in a beautiful glow.” concluded the expert.

At yesterday’s appearance, sculpted eyebrows enhanced Mary’s look, as did the royal’s perfectly curled waves, which framed her face.

The dark brown tones in her luscious locks are a marked difference from Mary’s softer hair color of recent years.

For decades, Mary’s makeup and hair were styled by Soren Hedegaard, who was responsible for creating her sophisticated, regal look, filled with matte finishes and pink tones, time and time again.

The new look appears to have a bolder feel than Mary’s previous aesthetic, which typically softened her facial features

But after 23 years, Soren, 68, stepped back from the role, saying on Instagram in January that he would “pass the baton to the next generation.” It is unclear who replaced the hairdresser.

Meanwhile, the Danish royals also have a dedicated approach to beauty, which is largely thanks to Danish-born skin expert to the stars Ole Henriksen.

Ole Henriksen first met Mary during her first pregnancy with son Prince Christian, when the Australian-born royal asked him for skincare advice.

‘Because of her love affair with some of my products, she invited me to her home. I found her incredibly warm, personable and extremely beautiful. I was captivated by her beautiful smile and stunning sense of style,” he told FEMAIL.

Mr Henriksen said the eyes are the most important part of the face and require ‘special attention’ as part of the wider skin care programme.

“Try to use creams that are proven to moisturize and firm to improve your skin’s elasticity, and always make this the last step of your routine,” he said.

Highlighting the link between a healthy, balanced diet and glowing skin, the beauty businessman adds: ‘I’m a strong opponent of fast food of any kind – say goodbye to junk food and discover colorful vegetables instead.’

Mr Henriksen stressed the importance of drinking plenty of water, saying that while you can still have the occasional glass of wine, you need to ‘hydrate, hydrate, hydrate’ to pursue your coveted skin tone.

He is an advocate of staying physically fit at all times and believes that exercise ‘allows you to enjoy life to the fullest’.

One of the ways Princess Mary keeps looking fit and young is through a targeted exercise regimen, including walking, jogging and horse riding.

‘Mary, like the rest of her family, is completely committed to exercise. She is always walking, jogging or riding,” her sister-in-law Leanne Donaldson previously said New idea

When it comes to her diet, reports suggest that the Australian-born royal has the ‘Danish diet’ to thank for her tall, lean physique – a regimen that focuses on locally sourced and readily available natural foods.

“People living in Denmark tend to eat more fish, especially oily fish such as salmon, and less meat than a typical Western diet,” Sydney-based dietitian Lyndi Cohen previously told FEMAIL.

‘The ‘Danish diet’ emphasizes high-quality meat when meat is eaten, and lean options.’

Mary, who was an advertising executive in her native Australia before falling in love with then-Crown Prince Frederik, became Queen of Denmark just six weeks ago.

Earlier this month, the couple announced their first royal trips together since becoming King and Queen.

The pair will visit Sweden, Norway, Greenland and the Faroe Islands this summer.

Announcing their upcoming plans, the palace’s Instagram account confirmed that the King and Queen will travel aboard the royal yacht Dannebrog.

At the beginning of May, the couple – who have been married for almost twenty years and have four children – will be the first to visit Sweden.

The following week, Frederik and Mary make an official state visit to Norway.

The palace also outlined plans for the king and queen of Denmark to visit the Faroe Islands and Greenland in June and July.
