Queen Mary of Denmark walks hand-in-hand with King Frederik during visit to Greenland alongside twin children Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine
Queen Maria and King Frederik X of Denmark looked extremely happy as they visited Greenland last weekend.
Mary, 52, and Frederik, 56, visited a whale microphone lookout in Qeqertarsuaq, Greenland, in high spirits with their two youngest children.
Although Crown Prince Christian, 18, who celebrated his graduation last week, and Princess Isabella, 17, were not present, Mary and Frederik’s youngest children, twins Princess Josephine and Prince Vincent, both 13, were in attendance.
Mary kept her outerwear looking chic with a navy double-breasted knee-length coat, paired with a waistcoat underneath and maroon winter accessories including a hat and scarf.
She appeared to be in cheerful mood as she held Frederik’s hand during her exploration of Greenland, despite rumours of marital problems since the king was photographed with Mexican socialite Genoveva Casanova in Madrid last year.

Frederik also dressed warmly for the occasion, wearing green patterned trousers, a royal blue sweater and a velvet vest.
Following in her mother’s footsteps, Josephine showed off her style in a chic khaki ensemble. The young royal also added a grey marl hat for extra warmth.
Vincent, meanwhile, opted for a dark green outfit in the same colour, complemented by a contrasting hat from Italian brand Stone Island worth £155.
During the trip, Mary showed her sporty side and played football with the local children, before a young girl gave her a warm hug.
It came after Queen Mary, 52, held up her phone and beamed as she took pictures of 18-year-old Prince Christian in a parade with his peers, celebrating the end of his school career.
Mary was dressed in a sharp pinstripe jacket and wore cool sunglasses, which certainly made her stand out as one of the most stylish parents in the group. But other than that, you wouldn’t think she was one of the most powerful women in the country, because she celebrated with other parents of Christian’s peers.
She was joined by King Frederik, Princess Isabella and the twins Princess Josephine and Prince Vincent at Ordrup Gymnasium in Copenhagen to celebrate the graduation of her eldest son and heir to the throne before he starts university in the autumn.
When the entire family gathered to celebrate the Crown Prince’s graduation ceremony, it was another show of solidarity from the royal family after a turbulent year that saw rumors circulate that King Frederik had had an affair (which was vehemently denied) and Queen Margrethe’s shock abdication in the new year.

Crown Prince Christian, who is now first in line to the throne after his father became king in January, took part in a parade with his peers to celebrate the completion of his studies, a new event in the celebrations surrounding his graduation party.
Last week, Mary and Frederik attended their son’s official graduation ceremony and told local media in interviews how proud they were.
It is likely that the royal will attend university in the autumn and complete his military training there, following in the footsteps of his father.
This is a similar situation to Princess Leonor, the heir to the Spanish throne. After finishing school, she began her three years of intensive defense training.
Two years ago, Prince Christian was removed from the elite Herlufsholm Boarding School after a documentary revealed allegations of sexual and physical abuse at the institution. His sister Isabella was also supposed to attend, but her parents pulled her out as well.

The couple were enrolled at Ordrup Gymnasium and since Isabella is only one year younger than her brother, Mary and Frederik will probably be at school around the same time next year to celebrate their eldest daughter’s graduation.
The school from which Christian graduated was founded in 1873 by HC Frederiksen (also called Friser), who wanted to move away from the traditional teaching methods of his time.
The school, which has several clubs, including top sports clubs, was the first school in Denmark to introduce coeducation and is seen as an innovative institution.
Ordrup’s core values are to encourage ‘curiosity’ in its students, but also ‘collaboration and respect’.
The festivities marking Crown Prince Christian’s graduation are a joyous occasion for the Danish royal family at a time of turmoil, following King Frederik’s night out with Mexican socialite Genoveva Casanova in Madrid last autumn.

Photos show the couple going to a traditional flamenco restaurant in the Spanish capital, where Genoveva lives, where they dined together until the early hours, according to Spanish magazine Lecturas.
After the photos were published, rumors circulated about an affair between the two, but Genoveva strongly denied this.
However, cracks in the relationship between Queen Mary and King Frederik appeared after a night out with Genoveva. The couple, who have been married for 20 years, now display a cool body language towards each other in public.
But while Crown Prince Christian is celebrating a rite of passage in his life by graduating from high school, the family appears to be overwhelmed with happiness – just as was the case with the Danish royal family last week, who could only smile.
