The group also welcomed Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, who smiled and laughed as he shook hands with the royals.
President Petro delivered a speech at the dinner table with a red velvet podium, while Letizia and Prime Minister Sanchez listened intently.
The Colombian politician has traveled to Spain to push for more action on climate change.
