While the British royal family is no doubt reeling from the revelations released in Prince Harry’s explosive memoir, the King and Queen of Spain seemed relaxed as they stepped out today for their first engagement of the year.

The royal couple marked the country’s Epiphany Day with a military parade followed by a reception at Madrid’s Palacio de la Zarzuela.

Letizia renewed her commitment to sustainable fashion for the occasion, wearing two pieces that she has already worn several times.

Tradition has it that the Queen always has to wear a floor-length gown for her first engagement of the year, and Letizia looked as regal as ever in the long lace gown that accentuated her petite waist and slender silhouette.

As always, she kept her look simple and paired the dress with a black cape that she has worn on several occasions to keep warm from the cold.

She accessorized with a small pair of gold earrings and her beloved Karen Hallam ring for the event.

Her brown locks were styled into a luscious bob bob that curled over her shoulders.

Felipe looked dapper in his military uniform and decorations, while Letizia donned a much-loved cape for the occasion.

She sported a healthy glow, enhanced with well-placed makeup brushes, with a hint of bronzer to highlight her cheekbones, and a sculpted forehead and eyeliner to give definition to her hazel eyes.

Meanwhile, her husband Felipe, 54, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, dressed in full military regalia for the event.

The President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, also attended the celebrations and looked elegant in a sober black suit and white shirt.

After the military parade, the couple headed inside the palace where they hosted a reception for their guests.

Known in Spain as El Día de los Reyes, it is celebrated with gifts and colorful parades, the oldest of which takes place in Valencia.

The largest and most important, however, is the one in Madrid, thanks in large part to the presence of a royal king in the procession.

Considered almost as important as Christmas Day itself, Epiphany marks the moment when baby Jesus, just a few days old, was first seen by the Three Wise Men, or Reyes Magos.

Letizia sported a healthy glow this morning, enhanced with just a dab of bronzer, mascara, and eyeliner.

The elegant couple went on deck to ensure that all their illustrious guests felt welcome at the palace.

The royal family kicked off the event by looking at a military palace in front of the Royal Palace, before heading inside to host a reception.

It also marks the return of the sovereigns to public functions after a two-week Christmas break with their daughter, Princess Leonor, 17, and Princess Sofia, 15.
