Queen Letizia loves toddler during visit to Colombia

Queen Letizia’s strong maternal instinct was on display yesterday as she adored children living in Cartagena, Colombia.

The Spanish queen, 50, was dressed in a similar functional outfit to the one she donned to arrive in the South American country, including a white shirt, beige cargo pants and sensible hiking boots.

Her hair was in a ponytail as she went to work to meet with parents and children in a community in Cartagena on the country’s Pacific coast.

As she met the community members, Letizia was photographed listening intently — and the mother-of-two couldn’t help but make a fuss of one of the toddlers.

She lightly took his little foot in her hands as he was carried by his mother, as he looked at her from behind a mass of beautiful curly hair.

Elsewhere, she was pictured chatting to schoolchildren while visiting Escuela Taller de Cartagena.

Letizia’s visit marked the first full day of her trip to Colombia, where she was greeted upon arrival by the country’s First Lady, Veronica Alcocer.

While talking to Ms. Alcocer, Letizia wore the AECID jacket with the flags of Spain and the European Union.

Today she was once again joined by the First Lady, who was dressed in a dark gray jumpsuit as she walked under the sweltering heat.

During the visit, the Queen will oversee the work being done in Colombia by the Spanish international development agency AECID.

The recent work of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation in Colombia has included initiatives to develop renewable energy, with the combined goals of reducing the country’s environmental footprint and increasing competition in the agricultural sector.

During her visit, Letizia will learn more about the progress of such projects.

The Queen’s last public appearance was in her home country of Spain, when she attended an event in Santander.

Dressed in a very stylish blue wrap dress she had worn before, the Queen’s enviable slender figure was on full display.

The high-neck midi dress features a ‘D-ring’ buckle and is pulled straight from the lookbook of high-end Spanish brand Adolfo Domínguez.

The Queen attended the 15th edition of the program Euros en tu nomina – meaning ‘Euros from your salary’, an initiative by Santander to promote projects that improve society.
