Queen Camilla has opted for blue outfits to show ‘reassured confidence’, claims colour psychologist
Queen consort Camilla has been wearing blue ensembles since it was confirmed she would be simply referred to as ‘Queen’ once King Charles III is crowned at his coronation.
The monarch’s wife, 75, chose the sapphire tones to show “reassured confidence” and “nobility and status,” according to a color psychologist.
Lancashire’s Lee Chambers told FEMAIL that Camilla’s decision to wear royal and navy blue outfits following the confirmation of her title suggests she is “calm and composed.”
The royal family wore a bright blue Fiona Clare gown in a new official portrait featuring the king, which was released alongside coronation invitations announcing that the monarch’s wife will be known as Queen Camilla after the historic event.
Then, for their first appearance after the King confirmed his wife’s new title, to the North Yorkshire town of Malton on Wednesday, Camilla once again opted for blue. She pulled on a navy blazer and pinstripe skirt.

On Thursday, the Queen Consort decided to wear sapphire shades again, stunning in a royal blue dress by Bruce Oldfield teamed with a matching white and blue Philip Treacy hat.
Lee said: With Camilla being crowned queen, it’s no surprise that she’s dressed in both regal and navy shades.
‘Blue has historical symbolism of nobility and status, and this still makes it a strong royal statement color to this day.
In addition, blue indicates that the wearer has a calm, reassured self-confidence, and its associations with trustworthiness and loyalty are qualities that Queen Camilla will want to send out as a message in this day and age.
The expert continued, “Both shades of blue have an emotional connection with a sense of calm and peace, and Camilla will no doubt want to exude these values during her public appearances.
The new official portrait of Their Majesties was done last month in the Blue Drawing Room at Buckingham Palace by Hugo Burnand, who will also be taking their official coronation photos.
And finally, the choice of blue often makes us consider how someone is feeling.
“It probably suggests the wearer is feeling reflective and thoughtful, but also collected and grounded, ready for an important event.”

Updates to the royal family’s social media profiles have happened before, usually changing pages to show more sombre images for Remembrance Day in November for a week, for example.
