Queen Camilla had some secret names embroidered onto her Coronation dress

Queen Camilla had some secret names embroidered on her coronation gown, including a heartwarming tribute to her rescue dogs.

The 75-year-old royal looked elegant in her Bruce Oldfield couture gown as she was presented with a ring that “married” her to King Charles’ consort at yesterday’s coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey.

However, eagle-eyed royal fans noticed that Camilla had also paid a subtle tribute to her loved ones on her breathtaking dress.

She had the names of her children and grandchildren discreetly embroidered at the bottom of her skirt.

Royal expert Victoria Howard shared close-up photos of the dress on Twitter, noting that the tailored dress appeared to reveal the names of her two children, Tom and Laura, along with those of her grandchildren, Gus, Freddy, Louis, Eliza and Lola.

People also saw two gold terrier puppies embroidered onto the dress to represent Charles and Camilla’s rescue dogs Beth and Bluebell.

The Royals rescued the puppies from Battersea Dogs’ and Cats’ Home in 2017. The two adorable dogs have even made Buckingham Palace their new home.

Meanwhile, her grandsons were pages of honor at the ceremony and her granddaughter was present on the day.

Camilla’s ivory dress, designed by Couturier and close friend Bruce Oldfield, who also worked closely with Diana during her time as a working Royal, was made of Peau de Soie, a silk fabric.

The dress was embellished with silver embroidery woven by Stephen Walters in Suffolk.

With an ivory, silver and gold color palette, bracelet length sleeves, a strong shoulder and a wide V-neckline, the dress featured Camilla’s signature silhouette, a modest neckline and an elongated waist.

The mother-of-two paired the dress with matching shoes created by British designer Elliot Zed and the same necklace Queen Elizabeth wore at her coronation in 1953.

Camilla also wore a state dress adorned with the king’s favorite flowers, delphiniums and lily of the valley, a favorite flower of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

The robe boasted gold thread hand embroidery and depicted meaningful symbols of nature, particularly specific insects and flowers that hold special significance to the couple and the wider royal family as a whole.

Among the flowers embroidered on the garment were lily of the valley – Queen Elizabeth’s favorite flower, lady’s mantle, myrtle, maidenhair fern, cornflowers, delphiniums and national emblems – the rose, thistle and clover.

Camilla’s new robe, expertly decorated by the Royal School of Needlework (of which Camilla is a patron), is also decorated with bees and beetles to reflect the royal couple’s affection for the natural world.

Appropriately, an earlier insight into Charles’s vision of his coronation – the invitation to the event – also contained similar imagery, depicting flowers and insects.

This natural theme nods to his love of nature, sustainability and climate conservation, like a monarch who has always held environmental conservation close to his heart.

A champion of sustainable fashion, Charles wore the same robe of state that his grandfather, King George VI, wore for his coronation in 1937, with a 15-foot train.

And his wife, too, recycled an old piece of clothing and donned a robe first made for Queen Elizabeth II in 1953 and tailored for the ceremony.

The velvet on both robes has been restored by the Royal School of Needlework and the lining and gold lace by Ede & Ravenscroft.

Charles and Camilla’s next scheduled performance is today’s coronation concert at Windsor Castle, starring Lionel Richie and Katy Perry.

Other members of the royal family will be participating in ‘Big Lunches’ around the country today.
