Major airlines launch massive sale starting from Boxing Day with flights from Sydney to Byron Bay from just $39

Australia’s three major airlines have announced huge Boxing Day sales across dozens of domestic and international routes.

Hundreds of thousands of seats can be booked by savvy flyers with Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin on popular flight routes during the limited-time sale that started on Thursday and lasted until the seats are sold.

Virgin Australia is the only one of the rival airlines to offer cheaper fares on international routes – with flights to New Zealand, Fiji, Vanuatu, Bali and Samoa getting the year-end offer.

The airline also offers a number of domestic routes to tourist hotspots, such as Hamilton Island, Byron Bay and the Whitsundays.

Virgin Australia managing director Libby Minogue said the Boxing Day sales offers are an “unmissable opportunity” to save when traveling in the New Year.

“Boxing Day is synonymous with deals – and for Virgin Australia it’s about giving our customers the freedom to explore more of Australia and beyond for less,” Ms Minogue said in a statement.

“Whether it’s a highly anticipated reunion, a dream vacation or a spontaneous getaway, these deals won’t last long, so we encourage travelers to book quickly before they’re gone.”

Discounted Virgin flights are available between January 6 and September 18 on Economy Lite and are available until 11:59pm AEST on December 29 or until fares sell out.
