QAnon Shaman Jacob Chansley is bunking with six other men at a halfway house in Phoenix

So-called QAnon shaman Jacob Chansley is currently sleeping with six other men in a halfway house outside of Phoenix, Arizona — who were unaware of his involvement on Jan. 6.

The Dailymail.com spoke exclusively to one of Chansley’s new housemates, who said the well-known Jan. 6 contestant arrived last week and is generally friendly, but hasn’t said much so far.

The man, Ernesto Leyva, said the house, which houses 78 former inmates, has seven men in a room, each in a separate bed.

“We just hang out and serve our time,” Leyva said, adding that the former inmate guests eat three meals a day, often consisting of things like burgers and hot dogs.

Until he was made aware of Chansley’s past by a reporter, Leyva was unaware that the 35-year-old was the QAnon shaman – who was released from prison 14 months earlier on Thursday.

“Wow, I didn’t know that,” Leyva said.

The infamous Capitol rioter was pictured on Sunday wearing a black beanie and a T-shirt that read “Stand for something or fall for whatever.”

Leyva was pictured behind a fence that wraps around the house blocking access to the property, wearing a gray T-shirt and red sports shorts.

Leyva said housemates are expected to stay on the property but can leave with permission to go to appointments.

“We are allowed to leave the facility … but we have to get a pass,” he said.

Levya claims that Chansley has not yet left the house and that his roommate did not know if he had any plans to do so in the future.

He confirmed that Chansley “arrived last week” and is “friendly but doesn’t say much.”

“He keeps to himself,” he added.

On Sunday, Chansley was seen making his way through the halfway house, tattoos prominently displayed and a thermos in hand.

He was seen for the first time since his early release on Saturday in exclusive photos obtained by DailyMail.com – where he was seen wearing a shirt emblazoned with the word “freedom”.

Chansley was originally sentenced to three years and four months in prison after storming the Capitol in remarkable attire.

He was released into the housing project, owned by Behavioral Systems Southwest, last Thursday.

It is a reentry center contracted by the Federal Bureau of Prisons and US Probation Service. According to BOP, Chansley will be in the halfway house until May of this year.

Chansley was transferred from FCI Stafford federal prison in Arizona to community confinement in the Phoenix area after serving a total of nearly 27 months in jail, a Bureau of Prisons (BOP) spokesperson confirmed in a statement to DailyMail on Thursday. com.

Chansley’s release comes weeks after his former attorney demanded he be released in light of new video of the riot at the Capitol, but his move to the halfway house appears to be unrelated.

The Bureau of Prison confirmed that Chansley is in the custody of Residential Reentry Management’s field office in Phoenix, which contracts with shelters to help inmates prepare for reentry into society. His release date is set for May 25.

Federal prisoners can receive a 15 percent reduction in their prison sentence for good behavior behind bars, and can also serve the last 12 months of their sentence in shelters, at the discretion of the Bureau of Prisons.

In a statement to DailyMail.com, Albert S. Watkins, the attorney who handled Chansley’s plea and sentencing, welcomed his transfer to a shelter.

“Having spent 11 months in solitary confinement before serving his sentence, and just 16 months into his sentence afterward, it is fitting that this gentle and intelligent young man be allowed to move on to the next phase of what will no doubt be a law-abiding and enriching life,” said Watkins.

“I applaud the decision of the US Bureau of Prison in this regard,” he added.
