Putin’s merry propagandists ridicule ‘vulnerable’ Biden’s disastrous TV debates and say he should be ‘at home looking after his grandchildren’, while the Kremlin downplays the election battle by claiming Vladimir ‘didn’t set his alarm clock’ to to watch

Vladimir Putin’s propagandists have slammed Joe Biden after last night’s disastrous TV election debate, calling the US president “weak” and saying he should be “at home looking after his grandchildren” instead of leading the free world.

Pro-Kremlin media and commentators lambasted Washington and gleefully claimed that the real standout winner of the clash was neither Biden nor Donald Trump, but Putin.

Supporters expressed disdain for Biden’s apparent implosion, with him stumbling over his words and losing the thread. According to so-called experts, this endangered the leadership of the Western world because of the war in Ukraine.

The Kremlin itself also seemed to downplay the election battle. According to Putin’s spokesman, the dictator was too busy to watch the debate.

“I don’t think you would expect that the president of Russia could set an alarm clock, wake up in the morning and watch a debate in the United States,” his spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. “After all, this is not an event on our calendar.”

Peskov continued: ‘We have many issues that are really important for our country and relevant for us. These are the issues that our president is working on.

‘Debates in the United States are definitely not among the top topics on the agenda. But of course we have seen media reports about these debates, we will get to know them in more detail.

“This is an internal matter of the United States. So we will of course keep ourselves informed of all statements that have been made.’

But, he said, there would be no attempt to “judge this debate” or draw “official conclusions,” and he insisted: “We have never interfered in the election campaigns of the United States.”

Putin rarely makes statements about US elections and has previously promised to “work with any American leader.”

But last month he strongly criticized the US legal and political system after Trump was convicted of a crime. According to him, these were used by enemies of the former president to damage his re-election chances.

“They (the US) are burning themselves from within, their state, their political system,” he warned.

In Moscow, the impression now prevails that Putin is quietly satisfied with last night’s chaotic debate and that he can use it to set the terms for war in Ukraine, while the West apparently has no leader.

Many Russians believe that Donald Trump would be more favorable to Putin, both in terms of supporting Moscow’s demands and stopping the flow of Western munitions into Kiev.

Professor Alexey Chesnakov from the National Research University Higher School of Economics stated: ‘Who won the debate today? Putin!’

The Russian propaganda channel TV was happy to take advantage of Biden’s weak performance.

“A half-open mouth, unblinking eyes, a blank expression on his face – this is how Joe Biden appeared before an audience of millions,” Valentin Bogdanov, head of Russia’s state television agency in New York, said on the Kremlin mouthpiece channel RT.

‘To this sad spectacle he added a hoarse voice, swallowed words and constant slips of the tongue.

“The most loyal liberal CNN anchors were powerless. The head of the White House didn’t even lose to Trump. From himself.’ There was now “deep panic” in the Democratic Party, he said.

The pro-Kremlin channel Pool No. 3 mockingly laughed that Biden “was taken out in public for an hour and a half without aides, cheat sheets or prompter, and everyone saw who he really was: an elderly, frail man with a weak memory and partial loss of thinking ability, who spoke in a friendly should look after his grandchildren at home and not aggressively impose democracy on the world.

“Simply put, the States discovered their king completely naked. That’s why there’s such a howl in the Washington swamp.”

It claimed: “Putin obviously won in the debates.”

Political scientist Alexander Gorbunov ridiculed the American political system and contrasted it with the Russian dictatorship, which he said ensures strong leadership.

“Everyone understands that one (contender) has already lost his presence in this world, and the second is there purely for fun (Trump).

‘In theory, they both should have resigned during the primaries: for health reasons and a combination of scandals.

“But in practice, no one will say out loud, ‘Listen, these two have already been in the Oval Office, let’s consider someone else?’

The third (option) is not even a hypothetical idea….How do you say in English: ‘If not Putin, then who?’

Vladimir Kornilov, an analyst at state news outlet Russia Today, noted a veteran Democratic strategist who said Biden cannot beat Trump now.

The Russian expert said: ‘I want to ask this ‘experienced strategist’: was this not clear to you before the debate?’

Earlier, state-owned Channel One said: “For Donald Trump, it’s about being a convicted felon, and for Joe Biden, it’s his age.

‘This may seem like a formality, but the chance that at least one of them, or even both of them, will not be a candidate is not zero.’
