Putin can destroy British civilisation with three missiles, Russian MP warns as he lists seven British locations that could be targeted by hypersonic weapons

Russia needs just three missiles to destroy British civilisation, a leading MP and Putin supporter has claimed in his latest venomous attack on NATO.

Yevgeny Popov was furious about US plans to deploy SM-6 surface-to-air missiles and Tomahawk cruise missiles, as well as hypersonic weapons being developed in Germany.

Speaking on Kremlin-controlled Russian state television, Popov named seven specific targets in England and Scotland. He also stressed that “all European capitals are at risk” and blamed the planned US deployment in Germany.

He warned: ‘Special attention to Britain, our traditional enemy, as a significant part of the (Russian) Northern Fleet will turn against (the UK).’

He listed possible targets as follows: ‘Washington has attacked not only London, but Manchester, Birmingham, the largest naval base in Devonport, the Clyde in Scotland, where the King stores his Trident nuclear missiles, Portsmouth and Chatham Dockyard in Kent.

“This is Britain at its most vulnerable,” he continued. “It would really only take three missiles to bring this civilisation down,” he said, without elaborating.

The propagandist said Russian cities were at immediate risk as a result of the US decision to deploy SM-6, Tomahawk and “hypersonic weapons under development” from 2025.

“The Pentagon will deploy missiles in Germany that pose a direct threat to Russia and reach St. Petersburg, Kazan, Moscow, Novosibirsk and Yekaterinburg,” he said, listing key Russian cities.

But he warned: “It’s not hard to guess what the reaction will be if the White House’s plans become reality.

‘All European capitals are in danger from our missiles in Kaliningrad – Berlin, Warsaw, all the Baltic republics, Paris, Bucharest, Prague…

‘Of course also the American bases in Germany… Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Patch Barracks (Stuttgart), Spangdahlem, (and) Ramstein.’

He accused the “Western bloc” of misjudging the impact of the US move on Russia, as highlighted during the recent NATO summit in the US.

“No response, no reflection and no attempt to analyse the implications,” he said.

‘A quick study of the specifications of the missiles is enough to realize that the US is plunging Europe into the firing line of a world war with mutual destruction guaranteed.’

This comes after Russia warned that European capitals are “potential victims” if the US deploys long-range missiles to the continent, after the US and Germany announced they would begin deploying projectiles from 2026.

In a video published Saturday by a Russian state television reporter, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia has the means to deter the US from deploying long-range missiles in Europe.

Asked by reporter Pavel Zarubin about the possibility of the United States sending hypersonic missiles to Europe, Peskov said: “We have enough potential to deter these missiles. But the capitals of these (European) states are potential victims.”

Russia said on Thursday it would take measures against the planned deployment of long-range missiles by the US in Germany. Russia considers the actions of the NATO military alliance a serious threat to Russia’s national security.

During a briefing with Russian news agencies on the outcome of the NATO summit held in Washington on Wednesday, Peskov said: “The North Atlantic Alliance has once again very clearly confirmed its essence.

“It is an alliance that was born in an era of confrontation, with the aim of maintaining confrontation.

“This increases tensions on the European continent,” he added, adding that the Kremlin is watching NATO’s military infrastructure move ever closer.

The US and Germany announced at the NATO summit that they will deploy long-range weapons in Germany in 2026 to demonstrate their commitment to European defense as Russia wages war on Ukraine.

According to them, the “episodic deployments” were a preparation for longer-term deployments that would include the deployment of SM-6 missiles, Tomahawk cruise missiles and hypersonic weapons with longer ranges than current capabilities in Europe.
