USWNT defender Emily Fox has signed for Arsenal from the North Carolina Courage of the National Women’s Soccer League. Fox has earned 39 caps for her country after making her debut in 2018, winning the Concacaf Women’s Championship and the SheBelieves Cup with the national team. She was also part of the squad for the 2023 Women’s World Cup, which was eliminated in the last sixteen by Sweden.
“It feels great to have signed here,” she says. “When I think of Arsenal, I think of excellence, I think of a global organization, I think of family. I think about pushing the standards of football, especially in women’s football. It is a huge honor to have the opportunity to represent this club and I look forward to getting started and playing in front of our supporters.”

The 25-year-old has never played outside the US after also competing for Racing Louisville in the NWSL. Arsenal manager Jonas Eidevall said: “We are delighted to bring Emily to Arsenal and I am sure our supporters will join me in welcoming her to our club. Emily has shown impressive development in recent seasons and her strengths in both phases will make her an important addition to our squad.”
Arsenal are third in the Women’s Super League, below Manchester City on goal difference, and three points behind leaders Chelsea. The league returns from the winter break on January 27, with Arsenal back in action a day later when they travel to Liverpool.
