An eight-month-old puppy survived, according to police, after being thrown from a moving vehicle during a two-hour police chase at 100 mph in Los Angeles.

Southeast officers on Friday witnessed the dog bundled up in a designer bag and thrown out of a car window while chasing a wanted suspect in connection with an attempted murder and carjacking that took place on March 26.

The winding chase traveled through multiple towns in the county and came to a stop in Carson, at Vermont Avenue and Belson Street. LAPD arrested three in connection with the chase.

The LAPD said in a statement, “Miraculously, the dog emerged unharmed and was rescued by responding LAPD officers.

“The puppy is now being cared for by South LA Animal Services, where he is currently being held pending an investigation into the separation anxiety noted during the chase.”

When the truck became too damaged to continue driving, several suspects got out on Century Boulevard and fled on foot to a second car.

Police said the attempted murder suspect knew the driver of the Mazda SUV waiting nearby. Two were arrested during the transfer.
