Chandhok and David Croft were discussing Alonso’s opening lap as they dropped the first Swift joke.
Chandhok said: “Fernando Alonso found a little empty space for him there…with Lewis Hamilton half straight ahead.”
Crofty couldn’t help but laugh when he heard his Sky Sports colleague refer to Swift’s 2014 hit song ‘Blank Space’.
Crofty was also heard to say: ‘Alonso is the fourth fastest car at the moment, maybe some would say he’s driving a getaway car, maybe that’s causing bad blood’.
The not-so-subtle comment related to Swift’s 2017 song “Getaway Car” and her 2014 hit “Bad Blood.”
They also heard references to her songs: “Don’t Blam Me,” “Style,” “Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve,” “22,” and “Mastermind.”

Crofty continued: ‘On the topic of 22, which is of course now our favorite song and number…’.
Alonso will most likely find the funny side of their comments as he captioned his TikTok ‘Race week era’ on Monday.
