Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker displays his quirky sense of style in pinstripe suit and scarf during rare appearance out and about in Mayfair

Jarvis Cocker showed off his quirky sense of style as he left the Connaught Hotel in Mayfair on Wednesday.

The 60-year-old Pulp frontman kept it smart and opted for a black pinstripe suit for lunch while he was accompanied by a girlfriend.

The musician paired the all-black ensemble with a sand-colored striped scarf and a navy blue baseball cap as he tried to keep a low profile.

With his unruly locks flowing out from under his hat, the star completed the look with a pair of sunglasses, while also carrying a shopping bag.

It comes after MailOnline recently revealed that late Pulp bassist Steve Mackey, who died a year ago, left a £2million fortune to his wife and son Marley.

The musician passed away on March 2, 2023 at the age of 56 after spending 12 weeks in hospital ‘fighting with all his might’ while suffering from an undisclosed illness.

He was Pulp’s bass guitarist during the Britpop band’s most successful years and played on their biggest hit Common People.

In addition to his work alongside Jarvis, Steve also wrote and produced songs for the solo recordings of Florence and the Machine and Jarvis, and collaborated with Daft Punk producer Thomas Bangalter.

Documents from the probate office in London show that he left a gross estate of £2,004,593, reduced to £1,889,156 after his debts were paid.

Announcing his death, Steve’s wife Katie wrote on Instagram: ‘After three months in hospital, fighting with all his strength and determination, we are shocked and devastated to have said goodbye to my brilliant, beautiful husband , Steve Mackey.

“Steve passed away today, a loss that has left me, his son Marley, parents Kath and Paul, sister Michelle and many friends all heartbroken.

‘Steve was the most talented man I ever knew, an exceptional musician, producer, photographer and filmmaker. As in life, he was adored by everyone whose path he crossed in the many creative disciplines he conquered.

‘I would like to express my sincere thanks to all the NHS staff who worked tirelessly for Steve. He will be missed beyond words.

The band was initially formed in 1978 by a 15-year-old Jarvis and Peter Dalton, then 14.

Steve was asked to join the band in 1989 after following Pulp and befriending Jarvis.

The band’s first album, including Steve, and their third in total, was called Separations and led to new success in the 1990s and they signed to Island Records.
