- Earlier this week, Kimpembe said he was not aware of losing the vice-captaincy.
- Lionel Messi is also said to be considering his future with the Parisian giants.
The stars of Paris Saint-Germain turned out in force for a charity gala in the French capital on Thursday night amid speculation about the future of Lionel Messi and the saga of the vice-captain.
Neymar, Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos, Marquinhos and Marco Verratti were just some of the stars seen at the event for Strong3r, the charity set up by defender Presnel Kimpembe.
The second iteration of the gala took place with the aim of raising money through auctions of various sports memorabilia from the superstars of the French national team and PSG.
Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe were among several PSG stars on Thursday night.
It’s been a busy week for Kimpembe, who took to Instagram to explain that he was not informed that he was stripped of vice-captain in favor of Kylian Mbappe.
The social media post directly contradicted PSG manager Christophe Galtier’s comments this week that the decision was made at the start of this season.
Neymar and Sergio Ramos also showed their support with PSG just three points ahead in Ligue 1
After the tug of war, Galtier had “confrontational conversations” with the 27-year-old academy graduate.
It stems from speculation that Lionel Messi, who was also snubbed for the substitute role, is considering his future with the club.
The recent World Cup winner is reported to have “doubts about signing a new deal” following his triumph in Qatar.
