MLS chiefs are exploring the possibility of a shock deal for rowdy Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappé, according to reports.

Mbappe’s future in Paris has been the subject of intense speculation this summer, with PSG determined to cash in on their valuable asset before his contract expires next year.

The French club accepted an astonishing $332 million bid from Saudi Arabia last month – which would have broken the world transfer record they set in 2017 by signing Neymar for $256 million – only for Mbappé to hold talks with center forward Al Hilal East reject.

It is believed that the 24-year-old would even be willing to sit on the bench during his last season at PSG to go on a free transfer next summer and then seal a sensational move to Real Madrid.

Scottish edition The Daily Report report that Mbappé could soon receive an offer to play in the United States.

But the Frenchman could soon receive an offer to join Lionel Messi, according to reports

After luring Lionel Messi to America earlier this summer, MLS executives are said to be preparing an innovative deal structure for the France international, which could be either short or long term.

Mbappé was put up for sale by PSG last month, after which MLS began to forge a deal that could bring a future Ballon d’Or winner to its shores.

Such a significant transfer would likely require the same kind of new funding structure the league has adopted to bring both Messi and David Beckham to the United States. Apple, MLS’s broadcasting partner, contributes to Messi’s salary package at Inter Miami, while he also has an option to take shares in the franchise.

MLS commissioner Don Garber recently spoke of a possible move for Mbappé

In a recent interview, MLS commissioner Don Garber hinted at a possible move for Mbappé, describing the league as “ambitious and innovative.”

“There was only one David Beckham, there is only one Lionel Messi,” Garber said. ‘But you know, who knows? Mbappe wants to get into the league and a team in our MLS wants to do something unique? MLS is ambitious and innovative and who knows what kind of structure we come up with.’

The secondary transfer window in the MLS closed last week and clubs were able to start registering new signings again at the end of January.

By then, however, Mbappé would be eligible to negotiate a free transfer to Real Madrid for the following summer, should he remain a PSG player until January.

The former Monaco winger has spent the past six years in Paris after initially joining Parc des Princes on loan in 2017 before PSG shelled out an eye-watering $198 million to sign him a year later.

He scored 212 goals in 260 games for the Ligue 1 team, won five French titles and reached the Champions League final in 2020.

PSG would demand around $ 165 million for their star player in the summer transfer period.

However, Mbappe is not the only headache they have at the moment, amid reports that Neymar is also looking to leave the club this summer.

According to the French outlet L’EquipeNeymar informed PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi on Sunday of his desire to leave Paris.

The Brazil international has been said to have become increasingly unhappy at PSG and is now determined to seal a sensational return to Barcelona before the end of the transfer window.
