PSG have been ‘contacted by more than FIVE clubs – including Premier League teams – wanting to sign Kylian Mbappé’ after omitting him from their pre-season tour of Japan

  • Kylian Mbappe has been offered for sale by PSG after he refused to renew his contract
  • They left him out of the squad for their pre-season tour of Japan
  • More than five clubs interested in signing Mbappé have contacted PSG this weekend

According to reports, at least five clubs contacted PSG over the weekend to express their interest in signing Kylian Mbappé.

The 24-year-old Frenchman is being offered for sale by the French champions after he refused to sign a new contract, with his contract due to expire next summer.

PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi has no intention of losing him for free in 2024 and has left him off their squad for their pre-season tour of Japan, a clear indication they are ready to relieve the attacker.

This has alerted clubs around the world that Mbappé is available, and more than five teams have contacted PSG in recent days, according to Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol.

It is clear that some of the clubs interested in Mbappé are in the Premier League, and they have learned that PSG could be open to loaning out their star striker.

PSG have received a mix of offers, with the possibility of a player-plus-cash deal being discussed.

Mbappé revealed last year that he has held talks with Liverpool before and admitted that it is his mother’s favorite club.

FIFA agent Marco Kirdemir also claimed last month that Liverpool would be willing to ‘pay a fortune’ to sign Mbappé. It is currently unknown if Liverpool have rekindled their interest in the World Cup winner.

Manchester United are another English club looking for a striker this summer, after Cristiano Ronaldo left midway through last season.

They have been linked with Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund as they look to strengthen their front line after signing midfielder Mason Mount and goalkeeper Andre Onana.

Meanwhile, Chelsea only managed 38 goals last season and finished in 12th place.

They’ve since brought in Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson, but a move ahead of Mbappé could appeal to their big-spending owner Todd Boehly.

Two of the clubs Solhekol could refer to from abroad are Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal and Real Madrid.

Al-Hilal has reportedly made Mbappe an offer that would see him earn £173.2 million a year if he moves to the Middle East.

The contract would also include an escape clause that would allow him to make his dream move to Madrid next year.

Mbappé came desperately close to Madrid in 2022 before making a sensational turnaround and staying at PSG.

However, he has still been linked with the Spanish giants and PSG believe he has already agreed to join them for free in 2024.

The move to Saudi Arabia could be a compromise, with PSG getting a transfer fee and Mbappe still moving to Madrid in 12 months if they can meet his release clause.
