The wife of PSG goalkeeper Sergio Rico has posted a distressing message on social media after her husband was left in hospital in serious condition following a horse riding accident.
The 29-year-old suffered a head injury after falling from a horse and was transported by helicopter to a hospital in Seville on Sunday morning.
Doctors have carried out further tests and Rico’s wife Alba Silva has now posted a worrying update on Instagram.
“Don’t leave me, my love, for I swear I can’t. I don’t know how to live without you. We love you very much,” she wrote.
Silva had previously spread a more positive message thanking fans and praising her husband’s strength on Monday night.

The message read: “Thank you for all the love you have for us. Sergio has many people praying for him and he is very strong. I have no words to describe what I feel.’
However, her latest message indicates how much concern there is for Rico and his current condition.
Rico and Silva got married last year and the couple have a son together.
It is clear that Rico was making a pilgrimage to Huelva on horseback when he got off his horse.
This came after the PSG players were given the day off by manager Christophe Galtier after clinching the Ligue 1 title on Saturday.
After this gesture from Galtier, Rico returned to his hometown of Seville before starting his journey on his horse.
Rico has received messages of support from the football community following his accident, with Sevilla wishing him a ‘speedy recovery’ on Twitter.

Sevilla club president Pepe Castro and PSG teammate Carlos Soler also visited him in hospital on Monday.
Rico began his career with his hometown club after coming through Sevilla’s academy, going on to make 170 senior appearances.
Premier League fans may also remember Rico from his season on loan at Fulham in 2018-19, although he was unable to save the west London club from relegation.
He has since moved to PSG but has been limited to just 24 appearances for the club after falling behind Gianluigi Donnarumma in the pecking order.
