Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly held talks with the representatives of Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes after beginning the race to sign the player this summer.
The likes of Man City, Arsenal and Real Madrid are believed to be interested in the Brazilian, who has a release clause of around £100m.
Magpies chief executive Darren Eales revealed earlier this year that the club may be forced to sell one of their key players to comply with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules.
And talkSPORT report that PSG have entered into talks with Guimaraes over a possible move with the midfielder having a ‘burning desire to play in the Champions League’.
Newcastle are set to make a huge profit from the 26-year-old, who joined the club for £35million in January 2022.

Guimaraes has been a standout at St James’ Park ever since and played a key role in last season’s brilliant campaign, which saw them reach the Carabao Cup final and qualify for the Champions League.
However, they failed to make it a success as it was an injury-plagued season this time.
The Saudi owners have pumped in their money and Newcastle announced losses of £73.4 million for the year ending June 2023 and £150 million for the last two years.
They are now in a difficult financial situation, but Toon boss Eddie Howe is reluctant to sell his main man.
Howe said earlier this month: ‘My intention would be to keep Bruno for as long as possible because I can.
‘But I can never give any guarantees, because that would be absolutely stupid of me. I’ve been in football long enough to know that you never know what’s going to happen tomorrow.
PSG, managed by Luis Enrique, will be hoping to beat Man City and Arsenal in the race to sign him
‘But he is an integral part of the team and is playing very well at the moment.
‘A lot will depend on our ambitions and where the club goes in the near future. We have to show that we are making progress.’
