‘I was excited to meet you!’ Prue Leith claims David Schwimmer “didn’t want to talk to anyone” while he was filming Celebrity Bake Off

Prue Leith has claimed that David Schwimmer “didn’t want to talk to anyone” while filming The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer.

The 83-year-old television judge admitted she had hoped to strike up a friendship with the 56-year-old actor, but her competitive streak got in the way.

She said Mirror: ‘Well, he must have been the most famous person we had in the store. And I was very excited about that.

“However, what surprised me was that I thought he would act like Ross, it would be like he was on Friends, but he was actually very focused and didn’t want to talk to anyone.

‘I just wanted to start baking and really wanted to win. She relaxed after a while.

David recently revealed the tragic reason he signed up to appear on the show.

The sitcom star explained that he wanted to be in the charity special because his grandmother died of the disease, as did his ex-wife Zoe Buckman’s mother.

In footage obtained by The Mirror ahead of Sunday’s episode, she also told viewers that her sister Ellie had also battled cancer.

The Friends star said: “I lost a grandmother to cancer, my daughter lost a grandmother to cancer and my sister is a cancer survivor so it’s important to me.”

‘I’m just grateful to be able to help in a small way to raise more awareness.

‘I’m here to have fun. I’m here to raise money for a great charity. It’s a great cause and I happen to be a huge fan of the show.

The Primetime Emmy Award nominee was married to his ex-wife Zoë Buckman from 2010 to 2017. They share an 11-year-old daughter, Cleo.
