Proton Pass launches new Pass Monitor security suite
Proton, the privacy and security company behind the Proton Pass password manager, has unveiled its entry into the world of dark web monitoring and password health analysis.
The new Pass Monitor tool promises to help customers keep an eye on their credentials by alerting them as soon as stolen passwords appear on the dark web, as well as providing force feedback and notifying accounts without any multi-factor authentication.
Customers with the best plans can combine the recently launched dark web monitoring in Proton Mail with access to Proton Sentinel, letting users know when their account is at risk and protecting it if an attacker steals your data.
Password authorization
Pass Monitor provides detection mechanisms for weak passwords that can easily be forced by an attacker, and will notify you of reused passwords that, if leaked, could result in the compromise of multiple accounts – highlighting the need for good password hygiene.

With the recent developments that threat actors have made in social engineering for phishing campaigns, just one successful email can collapse your entire online identity. Proton Monitor therefore offers users the option to create a unique address for each account, which prevents attackers from discovering your real email address.
While dark web monitoring is only available to paid subscription customers, all Proton Pass users have access to Pass Monitor with its password health features.
