Protesters supporting a ceasefire in Gaza stormed the lobby of New York City’s Rockefeller Center to send a message to President Joe Biden, who was participating in a taping of Late Night with Seth Meyers upstairs.
The group identified themselves as Jewish-Americans, wearing T-shirts that read “Not In Our Name” and large signs reading “Jews for Biden: End Israel’s Siege of Gaza.”
They chanted “end the siege of Gaza now” and “Biden, Biden, you can’t hide…”
In a video from the scene, a New York City police officer uses a bullhorn to tell the crowd they will be arrested for trespassing if they do not disperse.
Several protesters were then seen being arrested by the NYPD.

Pro-Palestinian protesters stormed the lobby of New York’s Rockefeller Center to send a message to President Joe Biden, who was participating in a Late Night With Seth Meyers tape upstairs.
The demonstrators called for a ceasefire to save Gaza’s civilian population from the Israeli army, which is trying to eradicate Hamas after the October 7 terrorist attack.
Biden was a surprise guest for Meyers’ 10th anniversary episode of the late night show.
The president appeared on the show along with comedian Amy Poehler.
He was Meyers’ first guest in 2014, during his tenure as President Barack Obama’s vice president.
As part of the filming, Biden and Meyers went next door to the Van Leeuwen ice cream shop.
During the trip, the president was asked when a ceasefire in Gaza might begin.
“I hope by the end of the weekend,” the president replied. “My national security advisor tells me we’re close, we’re close, we’re not done yet. I hope we have a ceasefire next Monday.”

The president was also asked Thursday about his dueling trip to a Texas border town.
Biden will lead Brownsville, Texas to investigate the situation at the US-Mexico border, while former President Donald Trump will go to Eagle Pass, Texas.
“I had it scheduled for Thursday, but what I didn’t know was that my good friend is apparently going,” Biden told reporters.
He would not say whether he would meet migrants on site.
“I’m not going to announce it in advance,” the president said.
During a conversation aboard Air Force One en route to New York on Monday, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked to confirm that Biden would appear on Meyer’s show and whether the secrecy was intended to keep protesters away to hold.
“I don’t have anything to say about that, if we have more to share we definitely will,” she said when asked about an appearance on Meyers’ show.
“I have nothing further to say on that,” she added when asked that the White House was concerned about the protests, which is why details about the president’s schedule were not shared.
