Priyanka Chopra brings the 70s back in bell bottoms as she arrives in Delhi…as she enjoys the first trip back to her native India in almost THREE YEARS

Priyanka Chopra was spotted on Saturday strolling through the airport in Delhi surrounded by her entourage.

The 40-year-old actress is back in India after nearly three years, enjoying her first trip to her native country since before the COVID-19 pandemic and the birth of her daughter Malti.

‘PeeCee’, as her Indian fans affectionately call her, brought back the 70s in an airport look with a sleek pair of fossil gray bell bottoms.

She let her luxurious dark hair fall in waves over her shoulders and kept her mask on as she passed through Indira Gandhi International Airport.

The daughter of two military doctors, Priyanka had an itinerant childhood with a stint in the Indian capital.

A few days ago, she started her Insta Stories and wrote that she was ‘Finally… going home’. After almost three years…’ about a photo of her boarding pass to India.

She has clearly longed for her country of origin for a while, as witnessed by a Travel + Leisure interview she gave a few months ago, in which she said, “My brain goes on vacation every night, but I really want to go back to India.”

Priyanka explains, ‘Each state in India has its own written and spoken language, meaning different alphabets, dress, clothing, food and holidays. So it’s like going to a new country every time you cross the border in India. Every time I go back home, I make sure to take the time to take a little vacation and travel.”

Before flying to Delhi, she stopped in Bombay, the city of Bollywood, the industry in which Priyanka first became a movie star.

Priyanka enjoyed the luxury at the Taj Lands End hotel in Bandra, an upscale northern suburb known as a celebrity nexus.

Although her Bombay trip was packed with work appointments, she did take a personal stop on the Marine Drive boardwalk for an Instagram video.

Marine Drive, the most famous street in the city, is sometimes referred to as the ‘Queen’s Necklace’ for the way it is lit up at night and for its connection to the history of the British Raj during the Victorian era.

Priyanka’s trip to India comes after she and her husband Nick Jonas celebrated their baby’s first Diwali – the Hindu festival of lights – in America.

Nick and Priyanka welcomed Malti through a surrogate in January and after her premature birth, the baby spent 100 days in the neonatal intensive care unit before returning home.

The couple tied the knot in 2018 at Umaid Bhawan, a palace in Rajasthan that was built under British rule for the Maharajas of Jodhpur, but has since become a hotel after the Indian royal family was abolished in the 1970s.
