Priyanka Chopra admits she has an ’emotional support water bottle’

Priyanka Chopra has admitted to carrying an “emotionally supportive water bottle” with her when she travels.

The 40-year-old actress, who is married to pop star Nick Jonas and shares daughter Malti with him, explains how she is used to travelling, having moved around a lot in her youth.

The daughter of two military doctors, Priyanka was born in India but spent much of her early years moving.

Consequently, she described herself as a very “transient” person, and while she doesn’t “need” her bed, she does need her special water bottle.

I talk to Alex Cooper about her Call her daddy podcast, she said, “Even now I don’t think I have material attachments. Like I’m not like “I need my bed”. Not me.

“I can just grab a bunch of shit and go to another hotel and like I can move and like I’m just transient.

“I have the six things I like, like my S’well water bottle, my emotional support water bottle. As long as I have that and my family, I’m fine.”

S’well travel bottles can cost between $22 and $50.

“I’ve got a big bag of all my Mary Poppins s**t like anything you can think of is probably in it.”

She also explained how exercising at such a young age had a very ‘positive’ effect on her.

She said, “I don’t think it would have had a positive impact on me until my dad talked to me about it a little bit.

“I was in kindergarten, I remember this so clearly. And it was the first time I kind of understood what it was like to move and we moved from Delhi somewhere else, I can’t remember.

“And I had to leave my friends and my school, and I was doing really well in class, my best friend, her name was Denise and she and I were crying, and I was really mad at my dad and I was like, I don doesn’t want to leave here. Why do I have to leave if you have to leave?

And he explained it to me in such a great way. He was like, you know, your math class you don’t like at all? Because when you go to a new school, for example, they don’t know that you don’t like math.

“He said, ‘Because when you go to the new school, you can be whatever you want. So that really changed my whole life. He made everything an adventure for us.'”

The family used to drive to the Himalayan mountains together and went to a small Himalayan town or mountain town and went for the weekend, even for three days.

She admitted that there was a great adventurous spirit in their family because they moved so often.

Elsewhere, prior to meeting Nick, Priyanka confessed that she was a serial monogamist and moved from one relationship to the next at high speed.

She explained that she eventually took a break from dating, which lasted two years, because she wanted to fix the mistakes she made.

Priyanka revealed, “The mistake [was] always feeling like I should be the caretaker, always feeling like it’s always good to cancel my job, my job, my meeting, or my priority to support him.”

The actress admitted that she felt like a “doormat” and invisible, but that all changed when she and Nick met after her hiatus from dating.

She said, ‘He thrives when he sees me shine; he’s most excited about the shows I do.’

She continued, “It’s like come on, what was I thinking [before]? That’s what you want – you want your man to be your champion.

“You don’t want your husband to be insecure or intimidated by you. I’m an alpha girl, I’m an ambitious girl, I’m a go-getter and I’m not ashamed of that.”

Priyanka and Nick got romantically involved in May 2018 and got married just two months later.

In January 2022, the age-gap couple welcomed their first child, daughter Malti Marie, through a surrogate mother.
