The Jharkhand-born Indian admitted that motherhood has been full of tense yet rewarding moments.
But there are also times when she could be reassured in the work she does just by watching her little girl’s behavior.
“I look at (my daughter’s) smile and I’m like, ‘Okay, okay. I’m doing great so far,” the former Quantico star said, before clarifying, “It’s the best thing I’ve ever done, but it’s extremely scary.”
Now, after more than a year and a half of being a mother, Chopra has noticed some unexpected things about herself.
‘It’s made me a bit more sensitive and vulnerable, I think, and it also makes me a bit nervous. “I didn’t expect that,” she said about her feelings and emotions.
Chopra and Jonas welcomed their first child together via surrogate on January 15, 2022, but she ended up spending the first three and a half months of her life in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
‘I don’t think it was our test. I think it was her test,” Chopra said of Malti’s experience in the hospital. “I realized very early on that I didn’t have the luxury of being scared or weak because she was scared and weak.
With her motherly instincts already present, Chopra said she knew she had to be strong for her baby.

“I think when you put them to bed it’s extremely overwhelming because every day you worry about what you could do wrong and what mistake you might make,” Chopra explained.
“I had to make her feel at every moment that she is not alone,” she said, “that we have her.”
Malti, the perfect gift for her mother, came home for the first time just before Mother’s Day last year.
Once they were able to bring their daughter home, Chopra quickly realized a whole new set of fears.
“(In the NICU) you know your child is alive because you can see his heartbeat (on the monitor). I couldn’t sleep for days because now she was suddenly at home without a monitor,” the Love Again actress explained.
All is revealed: ‘I look at (my daughter’s) smile and I think, ‘Okay, okay. So far I’m doing good,” the former Quantico star said of feeling unsure about how she’s doing as a mother
Protective: Initially, the new parents did their best to keep their daughter out of the spotlight, but they have since revealed Malti’s face on social media
‘I used to put my ear to her chest. I woke up every few minutes to see if everything was okay. This went on for weeks.’
Initially, the new parents did their best to keep their daughter out of the spotlight so she could regain her strength without any distractions.
It seems like Chopra and Jonas have been loosening things up a bit lately, and are now taking her out to gigs and showing her face a bit more in social media posts.
Last January, around her first birthday, Malti made her first public appearance with her parents when she attended the ceremony honoring the Jonas Brothers with a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame in Los Angeles.
