Prisoner killed in cell fire horror as guards make grim discovery after mystery blaze
A man has died in a Melbourne detention center after a fire broke out in a cell.
The 22-year-old was found unconscious in the cell at the Metropolitan Remand Center in Ravenhall, in the west of the city, at around 8.50pm on Sunday after the fire was extinguished.
Paramedics attempted to resuscitate the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The police have started an investigation into the death.
