Priscilla Presley's son breaks his silence on 'unbearable' $3,000 fentanyl addiction that nearly killed him: 'My mother saved me!'

Priscilla Presley's son Navarone Garibaldi has broken his silence about his “unbearable” fentanyl addiction that nearly killed him.

The musician, 36, whose parents are Priscilla, 78, and film producer Marco Garibaldi, 68, praised his mother for helping him kick the habit.

The famous family has a history of demons and addiction, with his half-sister Lisa-Marie recently found with opioids in her blood at the time of her death in January 2023.

Navarone revealed that he spent $3,000 a month on Fentenyl – which is forty times more powerful than heroin – after first becoming addicted when he unknowingly took it with other recreational drugs.

He told The sun: 'With heroin it would take about six to eight hours, but with fentanyl you have to do it every 45 minutes otherwise you get sick.'

About his recovery he said: 'My mother helped me, I had my period, I was useless'.

“She helped me with everything.”

In addition to Lisa Marie, who died from the small intestinal obstruction caused by previous weight-loss surgeries, her son Benjamin took his own life in 2020 at the age of 27 after his own battle with addiction.

Meanwhile, Priscilla's first husband Elvis died in 1977 at the age of 42 and was found to have 14 different medications in his system.

Last month, Navarone “slapped his late sister and claimed he didn't miss her” in a social media rant, 11 months after her shock death reports Mirror online.

He told fans: 'You're entitled to your opinion (about Lisa Marie). I'm sure she was good to some. I have made peace. I'm not going to lie and say I miss her, but I will say it's strange.

After being accused of his sister's 'rubbish talking', he said: 'I didn't talk nonsense, all I did was speak the truth.

'But sometimes I get rushed when people ask me questions and I just blurt out whatever comes to mind first. It's not that I plan to, I just can't help it.

He also claimed that when the star would drink alcohol, “she would decide to go away and tell you everything that is wrong with you and your life.”

'It was quite destructive (sic). I never got that angry, I never said anything I didn't mean when I smoked weed, but she said some really horrible things to me that kept us from getting close when she drank.

DailyMail.com has contacted a Garibaldi representative for comment.

In February, he reflected on her “surreal” death in an emotional interview released on the star's 55th birthday.

Garibald also praised Lisa Marie's daughter Riley Keough, 34, for caring for her twin sisters, Harper and Finley, 14.

The interview came 20 days after Presley's tragic death on January 12 at the age of 54, after she suffered cardiac arrest at home and had to be rushed to a hospital following resuscitation.

He said of her shock death: “It's still so surreal” before adding that he wanted to do the interview because “people know me, but they don't know me” – days after attending a Jan. 22 memorial for Presley in Graceland. .

Garibaldi also said that he and Presley had grown apart in the years leading up to her death.

Last month, Garibaldi posted on Instagram a childhood photo of himself with his sister.

He was referring to Lisa Marie's late father Elvis Presley, who died in 1977 when she was nine; and her late son Benjamin Keough, who died by suicide in July 2020 at the age of 27.

“Big sister… I hope you are at peace and happy now with your father and your son by your side,” Garibaldi said. “I know the past few years haven't been easy for you, and I wish things had been different between us…anyway, you are my sister and I'm sending you love and prayers for your journey home.

He concluded by saying: 'I still can't believe this, I'm at a loss for words. Love you sister. Beijos.'

Garibaldi paid tribute to his late half-sister a day after his mother confirmed in a statement that the singer-songwriter had died after being rushed to a hospital in the aftermath of what was believed to be cardiac arrest.

“It is with a heavy heart that I share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” Priscilla told People in a statement. “She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known.

“We ask for privacy as we try to cope with this great loss. Thanks for the love and prayers. There will be no further comment at this time.”

Lisa Marie's last public appearance at the Golden Globes took place two days before her death, where she was present in support of the Baz Luhrmann film Elvis.

She died of a small bowel obstruction caused by a previous weight-loss surgery, during which opioids had been found in her blood at the time of her death.

Elvis Presley's daughter was rushed to hospital on January 12 after suffering cardiac arrest. An LA County Coroner's report revealed that the star died from sequelae (a condition resulting from a previous illness or injury) of a small bowel obstruction.

The intestinal obstruction was in the form of a strangulated small intestine, caused by adhesions that had developed many years earlier after bariatric surgery (gastric stapling).

The toxicology results also show that Lisa had 'therapeutic' levels of Oxycodone in her blood, with a second opioid Buprenorphine – used to treat opioid addiction – also found.

There were also traces of Quetiapine, an antipsychotic, reports TMZ.

The coroner states that no “drug paraphernalia or narcotics” were found at her home and that her urine toxicology screen was negative.

The report confirms that Lisa had cosmetic surgery and was prescribed opioids a few months before her death, with the star having a history of 'over-medicating' – forgetting she had taken her medication and then taking it again.

The reports also state that the star had a “history of alcohol and drug abuse.”
