“When I ran out of food, he bit my hand and almost picked me up,” she said.

“Then he threw me to the ground and pounced,” added the son of film producer Marco Garibaldi. “As she was lunging at me, she literally put my whole head in her mouth and bit me.”

Because the camel was so heavy, he said sanctuary workers were unable to free it from its clutches until a dog luckily saved it.

“The dog knew something was wrong and he was freaking out and going at his face,” he recalled. That’s what made the camel go.

Garcia said her mother, who was watching the attack take place, was “freaked out.”

“I was traumatized,” she said.

The sanctuary had called 911, but said he opted to drive about an hour back to Los Angeles to go to the hospital there.

“When we got to the ER, it was fun because everyone was sitting there with nothing looking too serious,” he said. Meanwhile, he had blood everywhere.

Garcia received 34 staples to the head, but said he’s doing better now.

“I heal fast,” he said.

“I mean, I was happy that I survived before, but now it’s like, thank God I survived,” Garcia said. “My mom would have lost two children in two weeks.”
