During a Q&A ahead of Sofia Coppola’s premiere new biopic drama film Priscillathe actress and ex-wife of Elvis Presley, 78, admitted she is still struggling to cope with the untimely death of Lisa Marie at the age of 54 last January.
‘It is not easy. It’s still not easy,” she said in front of fans and journalists, as reported by Peoplebefore elaborating, “It’s still incredible, and you have to get through it… I have to be here for her.”
Priscilla further revealed that the last time she and Lisa Marie were together was at the 2023 Golden Globes, where they were rooting for Austin Butler to win Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for his role as the King Of Rock ‘N Roll in Baz Luhrmann’s critically acclaimed biopic Elvis.
“We were in the audience, we were holding hands and we were pushing for Austin,” Priscilla remembers.
“Obviously he understood, and we celebrated that and that was such a great time and a great memory because two days later she passed away. So it was great that we had that time together.”
She added: ‘She left me with many fond memories.’

Priscilla and Lisa Marie celebrated Butler’s Golden Globe win, held at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills on January 10, with the film’s director and co-writer, Baz Luhrmann, coming into the evening with nominations for Best Director – Film and Best Film. Movie – Drama.
Less than two days later, Lisa Marie went into cardiac arrest on the morning of January 12 at her home in the Calabasas neighborhood of Los Angeles.
Her heart was restarted after CPR was administered during the rush to a local hospital, but she died later that same day.
While talking about life as Presley during the Q-and-A, Priscilla (born Priscilla Ann Wagner, sir name changed to Beaulieu), 78, also opened up about her relationship with her granddaughter, Riley, Keough, with whom she recently had a conversation. settlement agreement with over Lisa Marie’s estate.

She added, “She is a beautiful woman, and she played a huge role in creating the legacy of my grandfather (Elvis’) and Graceland. … It’s a big responsibility that she’s tried to take on. None of that stuff has ever really been part of our relationship. She was just my grandmother.’
Following its world premiere at the 80th Venice International Film Festival on September 4, Priscilla was released in the US by A24 in limited theaters on October 27, before expanding widely on November 3.
The film, which explores Priscilla’s early life and marriage to the King of Rock ‘N’ Roll, stars Cailee Spaeny, 26, in the title role alongside Jacob Elordi, 26, as Elvis.

Priscilla Presley, who served as executive producer on the film, went into promo mode on Instagram, where she revealed that the biopic is based on her book Elvis And Me (1985).
