The thrifty Kate strikes again! The Princess of Wales recycles £62 ‘bohemian’ gold hoop earrings from Spells of Love in images posted alongside an open letter about the new early years campaign

The Princess of Wales showed off her thrifty side when it came to fashion, re-wearing a pair of £62 earrings in shared photos to launch her new initiative for toddlers.

Kate Middleton, 41, selected the 18k gold-plated Alia hoops created by Welsh designer Hayley Jones for her Spells of Love brand as she set out her plan for ‘Shaping Us’, an ambitious long-term project in which she urges the nation to work together to improve lives.

Photos shared by the royal show the affordable jewellery, which she wore during a visit to Wales in 2020, while she and Prince William, 40, made a series of visits to the country.

Along with the recycled earrings, Kate donned a green bow-neck top and black slacks. The images, which were taken at St John’s Church of England School, a primary school in east London, also show the royal showing off their trademark dark locks in a loose, wavy style.

The brand describes itself online as handcrafted pieces with a mix of ‘bohemian feminine influence’ and ‘trend-driven modern aesthetic’, with a focus on ‘ethical production’.

And the earrings are described online as “best sellers” and are shipped to customers in a “100% plastic-free, biodegradable bag.”

The campaign, which the princess outlined in a letter to the Mail On Sunday, aims to raise awareness of children’s development before their fifth birthday.

In an open letter, Kate laid out her plan for ‘Shaping Us’. He wrote the impassioned plea on his laptop as he prepared for today’s campaign launch, followed by a week-long publicity blitz joined by celebrities and influencers from the worlds of music, media and sport.

Images shared to launch the initiative show the royal speaking to children during a visit to a primary school in east London.

The campaign will include eye-catching videos and social media posts. A spokesperson for the Princess described it as “her life’s work”.

Kate gave a sneak peek of the Shaping Us campaign last night with a short video on social media.

In the 50-second film, his hands are seen opening a photo album with a blank cover. Inside, next to the photo of a grown man, write the question: ‘What shapes us?’ On other pages we see family photos, an ultrasound and a pregnant woman.

Princess Kate posted a video on Twitter teasing the launch of the campaign after meeting with her team of advisers on the issue for the first time earlier this week.

When Kate removes a photo of a little girl from the album, it reveals the words: “Our early childhood shapes the adults we become.”

It’s the start of what Kensington Palace hopes will be a major multimedia push to raise awareness of how our early years shape our lives.

The campaign is a bold and more public direction for the Royal Trust Center for Early Childhood, set up by the Princess, then Duchess of Cambridge, in June 2021.

Reports produced by the center have revealed that the first five years shape future well-being more than any other stage of development, with our brains growing faster than at any other time. However, many people are unaware of this fact.

Now the center is taking his work to the general public. He also hopes to ‘break the cycle’ for parents who experienced a difficult childhood.

Palace attendants say the idea for the project began even before Kate became a mother.

The Princess explains in today’s letter that ‘as a society, we are now devoting much more of our time and energy to the afterlife.

“I am absolutely determined that this long-term campaign is going to change that.”

It is a time when we lay the foundations and building blocks for life. It is when we learn to understand ourselves, understand others, and understand the world in which we live. But as a society, we are currently devoting much more of our time and energy to old age. I am absolutely determined that this long-term campaign is going to change that.

It will begin by highlighting how we develop during early childhood and why these years are so important in terms of shaping who we become. I will be joined by a remarkable group of experts spanning science, research, policymaking and frontline practice, as well as an exciting group of familiar faces from music, sport and television, to show us all why it is in all of our interests to worry about this.

We all need to know the critical importance of our early childhood. They really are years like no other in our lives. I urge everyone reading this to take the opportunity to learn more about this incredible stage of life, to think about their own childhood and how it shaped them, and most importantly, to ask what they can do to make the world better. be a place of support and love for our children.

Because healthy and happy children shape a healthy and happy future.
